FERRERMAN- AGAIN?

 Much gnashing of teeth about the possibility of a romance between Charlie Kirk's widow and couch fucker, JD Vance. Could you expect anything less of 2025? Know what? Maybe she offed him. Maybe not. A lifetime of television and movies portraying the lengths and depths that wealthy people will go to hold onto their money- or to get more, much more- has taught me that greed kills. That's human nature. It's the same with the poors. It's just more interesting when rich people kill and there are millions to be ill-gotten gained.  I've been fairly following the Kirk murder. It looked like crap from the get-go. Almost immediately there was video of the suspect escaping across the roof and scampering down to the ground out of view of the security camera. OK. Figured that, like a hitman might do, he left behind the untraceable weapon so as to make his escape. I was with them that far.  Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me, because I'm not the sharpest Ferrerman in the shed. This is true, but as the only Ferrerman in the world, this also makes me the smartest. So, I got that going for me as I somewhat gently careen through life.  There are many times I wonder why I even bother to have a phone. I really mostly text on it because I never enjoyed talking on the phone even to people I like or love. I think phones are intrusive. You don't know what people are doing when you call them. To me it's like a surprise visit. I have a comfortable apartment and pretty much year 'round I'm in my underwear. I have to put pants on to go downstairs and answer the doorbell. OK, I don't have to, but it's good policy in case it's an elderly neighbor lady at the door or a kid selling junk for school. It's never  some super cute woman who might admire the cut of my jib.   So, with phones, if I don't recognize the number, I ignore it- 99....

 I finally got my tulip bulbs in the ground. I bought them so many weeks ago and now that we are into November, I was running out of weather and excuses. Beautiful day. Might as well. A few weeks back I had sprayed whatever grass had been growing there with vinegar, so clearing that dead stuff was a breeze. The ground was pretty hard, but not too rocky. The whole operation took maybe half an hour. I did, indeed, make sure the pointy ends were facing up.  Tulips always bring two memories. One is growing up in my Wonder Years back on Julep Lane in Greenhills, Ohio. I was lucky to have been a kid in the 60's. My folks had planted tulips on the south side of the house, and I thought that was pretty cool given our street's name. I'm probably fonder of roses but tulip bulbs are pretty easy to plant and don't require much care at all.  What happened yesterday in (I believe) every election, was that the American people do not care to capitulate to Trump. Capitulation is for the media, half a dozen USSC 'justices', TV networks, and the rank and file of the feeble minded. It's not for you. It's not for me. It's not for US.  Tired of winning yet? NO!  Big victories. Two very smart, attractive women won their governor races; Mikie Sherril and Abigal Spanberger. Prop 50 won in California. Texas- you want to redistrict in an off-decade because your president told you to. Well, California can play that way as well. Is it silly and unnecessary? Of course it is. But these are silly and unnecessary times. You do what is necessary, what is made necessary, by unnecessary people like Trump. Perhaps the biggest win though, was Zohran Mamdani for NYC mayor.  This was huge. It was a big fuck you from the people to both  parties. People like to say both parties are the same. They are not.  Last night I watched a video about "15 worst Stoners in Hollywood Golden Age". There were some surprises! Veronica Lake? Ava Gardner? PETER LORRE??  Get the fuck outa here! I know marijuana wasn't invented by hippies in the 60's. It's as old as the earth, which is 6,000 or 600 million or so years, depending upon what books you read. According to the video, Debbie Reynolds and Tuesday Weld were also potheads. The weed seemed to be a blessing and a curse to these big-time stars as it enhanced their creativity but in time doomed their productivity. Oh wow, man! The two that surprised me the least were Jack Kerouac and Dennis Hopper. I tried to read Kerouac's "On the Road" at least once, and I couldn't ride with it. Oh, yeah, he was fucked up. No doubt.  Had a guy at the bar one day ask me what I liked to do in my spare time. You get that a lot tending bar. Some are blunter, asking what your real job  is because bartending at any age can't possibly be anybody's real job. That's what he was getting at. So, I told him I like to write. He asked if I had ever been published, and no, I had not. "Well, you're not a writer then", he declared. Oh. Thanks for clearing that up, asshole. How about you? Oh, he golfed.  "Are you on the PGA tour", I asked.
