All the World's a Stage

Since 2008 we have had three presidents and two of them have been democrats. Really, all three should have been democrats, but that is a story for another day. If you were looking to break into the ever-expanding pundit field in 2008, you would have looked at the handsome, smart, black, Barak Obama and you would have easily reasoned that the smart punditry money was to be made in being against this man. He was going to be around for a couple of terms. His job security was your  job security. And if things went as they righteously should, he would be succeeded by Hillary Clinton- our first female president- and you'd be looking at 16 years of solid employment. OK, not really a guarantee there, but a pretty safe bet. Good for the country too, if you care about things like that.  Well, conservative pundits don't care about things like what is good for the country. They are very selfish motherfuckers who only want what is good for them. Like republicans in general, they want...

Oral Arguments

I've heard them all. "Oh, I don't do that!  My husband/boyfriend used to make me do that!"  well, OK, you don't have to do that . Nobody should have to do anything they don't want to do. I totally believe and support that, whether it is sex or anything else in life. If you wouldn't do it, why should you expect anyone else to do it? It is pretty much the Golden Rule, right? Blow Jobs are in the news, mostly because recently released Epstein emails said that Trump blew a guy named "Bubba". People first thought it was Bill "Bubba" Clinton, mostly because they wanted to believe it was him because that's ironic and pretty funny. It wasn't the former President, the Epstein family said, but the interesting part of that was that they simply said it wasn't him, not that the BJ didn't happen. That is a way of doubling down, if you think about it. Nor did they deny that Putin and Netanyahu may well indeed have video of him perform...

Late Movie Review

This is a sort of review of an HBO mini-series that I had never heard of, "The Night Of", but found when I was lacking viewing pleasure for the evening. I tried the "True Detective" series with Jodie Foster, but if she was trying to impress me, she failed. Her story took place up at the Arctic circle, but the mystery seemed to involve the occult and that doesn't appeal to me. It just doesn't and I'm not sorry about that. If solving the mystery involves an 9th century Norse God or an Egyptian curse unleashed, it shall remain a Scooby Do mystery to me. Gritty fictional- or non-fictional- crime is my wheelhouse. I don't spend a lot of time trying to figure out who did it in fiction though because it's always the writer. They decide whodunnit, often with no rhyme or reason. Fucking writers like to GOTCHA!  So, at this point, I don't know who did it, but I know who didn't, and that would be the main character, Naz (Riz Ahmed). He's an Ame...

The Words of the Profits

It wasn't until 1974 when the Equal Credit Opportunity Act passed that women could apply for- and receive- a credit card without a man co-signing. The man could be a husband, father or even a brother. I think they preferred a husband though. Anecdotally, I have heard that up through the 50's and 60's it was harder for women to get into the workforce because male employers often saw them as taking a job away from a man who would be supporting a family. I don't know- maybe? I just kind of find it hard to believe that men have ever really been that *practical* or that much into solidarity amongst their fellow man. Business is pretty cutthroat, ya know. It always has been. In the 1860's this nation fought a war over slavery. Half of the country wanted it, and the other half did not. I am pretty sure that war continues today, as it never really ended.  \You may think we are corporate owned now- and we are- but we always have been. It's just more obvious now as it is...

On Guards and Christmas Cards

Trump sure has been weird lately. There's a news flash. Everyone was expecting him to have goons jump Zohran Mamdani in their private, White & Gold House meeting this past week, but it turned out that Trump was quite charmed by the young socialist and, even though terrorist MBS had visited a day or two earlier, no bone saws were to be used. We are all glad of that- "we" being the reasonably normal people here in America. Republicans (not a fucking one of which are "normal") were not  pleased. But are they ever? The answer to that is "no". His cheerful meeting with Mamdani was smack dab in the middle of his screaming at a reporter, calling her "Piggy", a feud with the nearly departed Marjorie Greene possibly coming to an end, and a Russian peace deal that was pretty obviously written in the original Russian and both owned and disowned by Secretary of State, Little Marco Rubio. It's hard to keep up with the changes with this version of...

You Can't Tell the Bobby's Without a Scorecard

Not sure I ever mentioned "Bobby the Hairdresser" before. There being an abundance of Bob's in the world, it helps to differentiate been the various Bob's by what they are known for. There was "Bobby the Big Dick" (He was and had a big one), "Bobbie the Cigar". He was a very squeaky little guy who smoked cigars that were almost bigger than he was. And "Safety Bob" who made his living as a safety engineer but managed to break his leg getting into a cab. He was, of course, drunk. Surely other Bobs too, but they were just Bob's.  Bobby the Hairdresser and I had gone to school together, but I don't recall knowing him. Big school. Maybe I did know of him, because I knew he had been a greaser. Kind of a fancy greaser at that, as he used hairspray rather than grease to slick his hair back. As Warren Zevon sang, his hair was perfect. He had an angular walk to him that I'm sure he had practiced a lot , that suggested he was always read...

Files Follies Forever

Evidently there are people- and agencies- far more important than Trump who need to be protected from the Epstein Files. You may think that Trump being POTUS makes him Job 1, but *they* know full well how disposable he is. It ain't about him. There are major banks, intelligence agencies, diplomats and billionaires that were involved with Epstein. These are "the innocent people" that that fucking closet-case, Mike Johnson is talking about needing to be protected. Granted, many of these men may not have raped teen girls. They surely knew what was going on at the Island at Jeffery's homes, but they were there for other nefarious reasons, such as arms deals, money-laundering and other investments of the shadowy persuasion. These infractions are what they do not want to come out because exposing those opens all sorts of cans of world-wide worms that many, many powerful people do not want to get out. The rape of young teens- and no matter how Megyn Kelly spins it- it is ...

The Girl with the Glasses

Let's get our minds off of current events here and talk about titty bars. Did you know that I was 50 years old before I spent time in a strip club? It's true. Now, I love naked women and nearly naked women a whole lot, and I have seen more than my share in an in-person and sometimes even a professional capacity. The idea of sitting in a bar, spending a lot of money, watching a gal dance topless, while I contemplate paying big bucks for a lap dance or bigger bucks for time in a back room, just never appealed to me or my wallet. So, prior to my first trip there had been bachelor parties, many of which I was only invited to because Ali, our bar manager, would call downstairs and ask me to bring up a bottle of J&B scotch when the party's stripper was coming on. That was the aforementioned "professional capacity". I don't think the other bartender's downstairs ever caught on or wondered why it took 20-30 minutes to deliver a bottle of scotch up one flight. ...

Is Wrong Right Now?

In this mixed up, jumbled up, shook up world, could the whole Epstein Island saga come down to the only crime being a poor, defenseless 50-some-year-old man coerced into sucking the dick of a former POTUS? Sure! It's 2025. Absolutely anything is possible- except universal healthcare for Americans.  I like things to make sense. That is asking a lot at times. Maybe my opening here didn't make sense, but it sure was fun to write! Things have certainly not always gone my way in life, but I have long since learned to roll with that. Sometimes it's been my fault. I even concede that some things have been my fault when clearly, someone else had wronged me. In retrospect, I accept that I should have seen it coming because much of the time, I did. Not a lot of people will make that admission in public, or more importantly, to themselves. To thine own self be true. Our jaws are on the floor day in and day out as we watch and listen to Trump and his administration tell ridiculous lie...

Oral Arguments

Let's talk about blowjobs. This is in the public discourse now because one of the Epstein emails suggests that the current president (at least) once blew Bill Clinton. Who had that  on their Bingo card? "Cocksucker" is most often used as a pejorative in life, and this is odd because giving someone a blowjob is one of the nicest things one can do for a man. I mean, fellas- have you ever turned down a blowjob from a lady? The old saw is, "Even bad head is better than no head". Amiright, fellas? HIGH FIVE! YEEEEAAAHHH! Now women, conversely, have no such sentiments concerning your giving head to them. VERY critical. If you aren't doing it well, if they don't tell you right now, they will  tell you later on when they are breaking up with you or you forget something at the store or an anniversary. Bank on that. Timing is off there, I suspect. I'll tell you something else about women, because for the most part, they are better than us; they don't slip ...

Justice in Wonderland

Finished watching an interview with retired LAPD homicide cop, Tom Lange, about the "Wonderland Murders". I had recently re-watched "Boogie Nights" which was based on John Holmes life and the early mainstreaming of porn and gave a wink and a nod to Holmes's participation in the Wonderland incident. Boogie Nights is a very good film. It's funny in the right parts and highlights the downfall of a young man whose blessing was a curse. As I understand it, it is a pretty good telling of John Holmes life, though somewhat sanitized for Hollywood. For an excellent depiction of the murders is "Wonderland", a 2003 film starring Val Kilmer as Holmes, and Lisa Kudrow as his wife, is a good choice. That story is murder specific, and his penis does not make an appearance. Not a big part of the plotline, pun fully intended. I haven't seen it in several years, but I recall liking it a lot. (Wait a minute! I just reread that! I wasn't intending my Freudian...

Plot Twist

Watched "Rules of Engagement" (2000), with Samuel Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones, the other day. It was watchable and hit 6.4 on the IMDb Richter scale. Fair enough. Jackson plays a combat Marine officer whose squad is assigned to bail out the American embassy in Yemen after an angry crowd assembles in front of the building. Jackson is charged with getting the Ambassador and his family to safety. There are snipers on the roof across the street, and the crowd of civilians (men, women and children) is also armed and soon there is a shitstorm of gunplay. All the Marines and like 83 Yemenis die. It was a bad day.  Back in the states, the National Security Adviser is incensed at the incident, the kids being killed and all, and he fears it could lead to war with Yemen. He wants to charge Jackson with murder and even seek the death penalty, despite Jackson being a very  decorated Marine,  there is to be courts martial to determine if the crowd fired first as Jackson claimed o...

It Ain't Shakespeare, It's Carrollonian

Here we are in a world where quoting a dead, maga political gadfly, is considered to be a bad thing, a disgracing of his image. You can show video clips of him calling for public executions and then dab a pretend tear from your eye as you lament that he was publicly murdered. Podcaster, Megyn Kelly, can (and did) argue that 'was there really anything wrong with having sex with teenage girls' because it wasn't like the guy was having sex with 3-year-olds, which is bad- at least for right now.  Megyn is not the only one defending grown men having sex with teen girls (just teen girls for now) as others are making the same argument. And these are not all maga making the suggestion, asking the question, doing their own research. No doubt some regular pedophiles are seizing the moment to put their 2 cents towards changing the rules about having sex with children. If not now, when, I reckon.  For years the public has been clamoring for the release of " The Epstein Files...

Another FB Post from a Year Ago

Well, it's been a week. Boy, has it been a week. I'm encouraged though that democracy might hold. It is not going to be easy. We have to remember though, that the stupidest person imaginable is going to be president on January 20th, 2025. He's already lining out his cabinet with toads and lackeys who, by default, will be as stupid as him because they serve him, not the country. None of these people will act as guardrails, deterring him from doing stupid things. But even though he managed to win the trifecta- White House, senate and house- there's still democrats and independents that can slow his roll. There are still blue state governors and state's rights and federal judges who have final words on things. There is opposition. I like to think that they didn't just start preparing for this last Tuesday night. It's been a possibility for some time now... That "dictator on Day 1" shit was the musings of a man whose addled mind becomes more like oat...

Change You Must Believe In

The time change was- what- a week ago? Maybe two? I don't know, but you- like me- probably spent a few days saying stuff like, "Ok, it's 9:00 o'clock, but it's really  10:00 o'clock because of that stupid, fucking time change... Talk about an exercise in futility! Most of us probably do that, at least for a couple of days each fall or spring.  Ever since the regime change last January, do you also find yourself confused when you hear or read about the government alphabet agencies we are all so familiar with? It's been 9 months, and I still find myself initially thinking that it's good thing when I hear that familiar government agencies are saying this or doing that. A gummy, big-toothed guy gets murdered in Utah, for example. Well, the FBI is on the case! A good thing, right? No. It's not that  FBI from a year ago. It's this  FBI... Oh...no... Whether you thought a government agency was good or bad in the past, the regime change this past Janua...
Today's special commenter is one-year-ago me and his (well, my) thoughts on the election. I posted this on my Facebook back then.  Can I over-analyze the election for a moment? I mean- everyone else is. Nancy Pelosi says Biden should have dropped out sooner and that there should have been a primary. That tells me that old gal was a-plottin' for a long time. Evidently, she wanted her guy- Gavin Newsom- in there. He seems like a good choice if we were ever to have elections again. Handsome, well-spoken, smart- quite a contrast to Kamala Harris who is merely beautiful, well-spoken and smart. But I don't think Gavin would have made a difference. I think our loss was inevitable. Some are saying "woke" cost us the election. People just don't want to be woke, dammit! That's why they went for Trump! Fuck me, but people are really saying that. As far as opinions go, that most definitely is one. Could it be right? Of course not. It's stupid. There's a little...

Appearances Sake

Much gnashing of teeth about the possibility of a romance between Charlie Kirk's widow and couch fucker, JD Vance. Could you expect anything less of 2025? Know what? Maybe she offed him. Maybe not. A lifetime of television and movies portraying the lengths and depths that wealthy people will go to hold onto their money- or to get more, much more- has taught me that greed kills. That's human nature. It's the same with the poors. It's just more interesting when rich people kill and there are millions to be ill-gotten gained.  I've been fairly following the Kirk murder. It looked like crap from the get-go. Almost immediately there was video of the suspect escaping across the roof and scampering down to the ground out of view of the security camera. OK. Figured that, like a hitman might do, he left behind the untraceable weapon so as to make his escape. I was with them that far. But then they started talking shit about the rifle being broken down by the shooter- on the...

To Catch a Ferrerman?

Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me, because I'm not the sharpest Ferrerman in the shed. This is true, but as the only Ferrerman in the world, this also makes me the smartest. So, I got that going for me as I somewhat gently careen through life.  There are many times I wonder why I even bother to have a phone. I really mostly text on it because I never enjoyed talking on the phone even to people I like or love. I think phones are intrusive. You don't know what people are doing when you call them. To me it's like a surprise visit. I have a comfortable apartment and pretty much year 'round I'm in my underwear. I have to put pants on to go downstairs and answer the doorbell. OK, I don't have to, but it's good policy in case it's an elderly neighbor lady at the door or a kid selling junk for school. It's never  some super cute woman who might admire the cut of my jib.   So, with phones, if I don't recognize the number, I ignore it- 99....
