Appearances Sake
Much gnashing of teeth about the possibility of a romance between Charlie Kirk's widow and couch fucker, JD Vance. Could you expect anything less of 2025?
Know what? Maybe she offed him. Maybe not. A lifetime of television and movies portraying the lengths and depths that wealthy people will go to hold onto their money- or to get more, much more- has taught me that greed kills. That's human nature. It's the same with the poors. It's just more interesting when rich people kill and there are millions to be ill-gotten gained.
I've been fairly following the Kirk murder. It looked like crap from the get-go. Almost immediately there was video of the suspect escaping across the roof and scampering down to the ground out of view of the security camera. OK. Figured that, like a hitman might do, he left behind the untraceable weapon so as to make his escape. I was with them that far. But then they started talking shit about the rifle being broken down by the shooter- on the roof(!)- immediately after the kill. No. As it turned out, the only thing found on the roof was the screwdriver that would have made that ridiculous breakdown theory, a lot easier to believe.
But then there was the rifle itself. A 30.06. That is a 30-caliber round, based on a 1906 design, meant for hunting game such as deer or elk. All the gun guys on YouTube seemed to agree that a round like that, in the neck, would take a man's head off. Seemed like it to me too. Could a young man of some skill make that shot from around 125 yards? Sure. Might take a little luck, but it's certainly doable. However, plausibility doesn't solve cases, accountability does. You have to look for motive. It doesn't even have to be a good motive, just one that would convince a jury that person A wanted person B dead, and here's why. You go to court with that, and you either make your case, or you don't. Confessions are nice, but not always reliable, and this young suspect has never confessed. Well, if my old boss, 162 IQ Lou were handling the case and the suspect denied committing the crime, surely, he would remark, "You would say that, wouldn't you?" Whoever got to Lou first, got to Lou best. Anyone not confessing to the accusations of Lou's confidential informants was lying. I mention this because the world is full of Lous. "Losers", they are called.
One such loser is FBI director, Kash Patel. Why is he even in charge of the investigation? Why did they make a federal case of the killing of a civilian? I guess that they were called in by a quickly overwhelmed local sheriff, but I don't know. Kirk was not a sitting politician or government employee, which would be an immediate federal case. He was a 'conservative' pundit and podcaster, who traveled about the country debating college kids for fun and profit. I don't see how you make money at that, but I gather he had benefactors who saw him as a good investment, and they poured money into his work. The purpose of his organization- Turning Point USA- was to capture the minds of young men (eh- women too, I reckon) and make them conservatives. Alright. I wouldn't do it, but it's not a crime. Have at it.
I think Kirk was more famous for being dead- for being murdered- than he was while alive. I only knew of him because I'm a bit of a political junkie and I was on Twitter, and I am on Bluesky and Facebook and so was Kirk with the things he said and did. When you are on those sites, you think everybody is. They are really small, scummy ponds on the internet. Far more people are not on social media than are on. So, Kirk was a pretty big fish in those ponds, and I bet much of America said, "Charlie who?" when they heard he was killed. Now, many more know who he is. Might that have been the point?
Immediately after his murder, they elevated his stature to that of Kings, Kennedy's and even Jesus H. Christ himself. They tried hard with the Jesus stuff. It didn't take though. It was so odd, and frankly blasphemous even to me, that they tried so hard, so fast to make a superstar martyr out of a guy who argued with college kids. He just wasn't all that. In fact, he was pretty much an asshole. If life gets to a point where the powers that be want to silence your words because they make you look bad, you are not going to make it as Christ 2.0. The first Christ was very quotable, even now, 2,000 years later.
I don't think this was well-intentioned fuckery. If it was the plan from the start, it was a stupid plan. If they winged it to take advantage of the event, I could buy that. Actually, kind of makes more sense given the abject knuckleheads involved in the investigation. It reminds me of Tom Cruise in "A Few Good Men" when he realized why he, a lawyer only experienced in making plea deals, was chosen to represent the two accused Marines. Someone wanted a deal made, so they got a dealmaker. This was supposed to be a cut and dried, easy peasey deal. Of course, it wouldn't be. Not in 2025, or any year, really. Not in a Trump production.
Kirk's murder still flirts with the big time of assassinations, but that dwindles with each passing day. What is important now is that his work goes on. That is where the widow comes in. Erika Kirk is the heir to the throne. No one is absconding with the fortune here. The idea is to make more. She dabs at presumptive tears as she speaks of the husband she lost, and vows to continue his "fight". There is quite a bit of irony there as Charlie Kirk, his disciples and followers believed that a woman's place was in the kitchen and bedroom, submitting to her husband, not leading, whatever it is that TPUSA actually does. Good help being hard to find, I guess there was no man waiting in the wings to take over. Or, if there was, some others didn't want that guy to take the reins. So, why not her? I didn't think Charlie was that good. I mean, maybe he was for his crowd. My crowd thought he was a gummy, dilettante. I mean- did college kids really need to be defeated on the battlefield of debate to change the world to his conservative way of life? I'm gonna say, no.
JD Vance might be shopping for a new wife. The current one turned out to be an Indian one of the Hindu persuasion. With this regime's anti-immigration frenzy in place, he picked a bad time to have a woman of color as his submissive wife. There is talk of her converting to Catholicism, but that might not placate the republicans as she will still be brown. Vance could become our next POTUS pretty much any minute now, so there isn't much time to retrain a wife of any color. There's a possibility that Erika Kirk could be his ready-made, wifey in waiting. She's blonde (as far as we know) Christian (as far as we know) and she is rich and single. That we know. This Trump regime is all about presentation and appearances no matter how awful they go about it. Maga people at least believe that Melania is Trump's beautiful, loyal wife and that she speaks seven languages. They would probably go for it. Erika Kirk is Fox news weekend edition beautiful. That's all this gold-leafed administration needs for appearances is appearances themselves.
