Another FB Post from a Year Ago

 Well, it's been a week. Boy, has it been a week.

I'm encouraged though that democracy might hold. It is not going to be easy. We have to remember though, that the stupidest person imaginable is going to be president on January 20th, 2025. He's already lining out his cabinet with toads and lackeys who, by default, will be as stupid as him because they serve him, not the country. None of these people will act as guardrails, deterring him from doing stupid things.
But even though he managed to win the trifecta- White House, senate and house- there's still democrats and independents that can slow his roll. There are still blue state governors and state's rights and federal judges who have final words on things. There is opposition. I like to think that they didn't just start preparing for this last Tuesday night. It's been a possibility for some time now...
That "dictator on Day 1" shit was the musings of a man whose addled mind becomes more like oatmeal each day. He does not keep his word. Never has. The border wall come to mind? Hopefully, tariff talk goes away quickly. Even maga in this past week are just now learning that tariffs suck and are a tax on consumers- not on China. A lot of them are having buyer's remorse. "Can I change my vote?" has been a leading Google question all week. So has "What are tariffs?" Inquiring minds now want to know. Maybe his billionaire handlers will put the kibosh on that. I don't know. They have billions and might not care even if they know how stupid it is.
I'm personally concerned about Social Security. Generations of republicans have hated it and wanted to kill it since FDR started it. There's over a trillion dollars in it and that would be a nice addition to the bank accounts of the already filthy rich.
Hopefully the mass deportations were just campaign rhetoric too. That's an insanely dumb and cruel idea. The white, Xtian evangelicals want that to pump up the white race, but the more pragmatic businessmen might balk. Who is really running this shit show? I've long felt there would be a civil war inside the party if it ever got this far.
And it has now gotten this far. Trump was charmed from all directions of evil and took them all in. The maga movement is a big tent but it's a crowded circus. Everybody wants to rule the world. But everybody can't. Not these assholes. Watch for them to not get along very soon.

Molehills On the Battlefield

An odd exchange with a follower earlier. To another poster I added to his complaint about the recent trend of side-by-side reaction videos They are dumb and pretty much unnecessary. My addition was that I didn't like the ones where someone is telling a joke, and on the other side of the screen is a clip of someone laughing outrageously. Why? And perhaps worse, the split screen is used to tell a story, and the other side is some inexplicable B-roll of some unrelated product being made. Again- why? Are these first world problems? Yes. But I wasn't crying or praying to Trump that these 'creators' be deported to a Sudanese prison. I was just kinda bitching. Is that wrong? To one follower, it was! Her Soft Underbelly Exposed

One of the better interviewers you'll see on YouTube is Mark Laita of the "Soft, White Underbelly" channel. It's my understanding he is primarily a photographer whose interest has always been photographing the unseen segments of society- the street people, prostitutes, criminals and kinda freaks of life, that we generally ignore. Maybe it's all in the editing, but his success seems to be in letting his subjects talk without too much prompting from him. It's their story.  This episode was with a porn star- Addison Vodka. Well, that's what she goes by. Though I have seen my share of porn, I'm not on a first or last name basis with most of these people. So, I fired up the Pornhub to see what she what she was like in action. She does a good job for a girl with such a schpankable bottom. No doubt. But she was an enlightening interview.
