On Guards and Christmas Cards

Trump sure has been weird lately. There's a news flash. Everyone was expecting him to have goons jump Zohran Mamdani in their private, White & Gold House meeting this past week, but it turned out that Trump was quite charmed by the young socialist and, even though terrorist MBS had visited a day or two earlier, no bone saws were to be used. We are all glad of that- "we" being the reasonably normal people here in America. Republicans (not a fucking one of which are "normal") were not pleased. But are they ever? The answer to that is "no". His cheerful meeting with Mamdani was smack dab in the middle of his screaming at a reporter, calling her "Piggy", a feud with the nearly departed Marjorie Greene possibly coming to an end, and a Russian peace deal that was pretty obviously written in the original Russian and both owned and disowned by Secretary of State, Little Marco Rubio. It's hard to keep up with the changes with this version of Jazz. It's always something with these fuckers. It always will be.

Last night I was binging a limited series about the corrupt Baltimore police force of the 2010's, "We Own This City". It was very heavy on the Freddie Gray tragedy and lightly sprinkled with the fear of an impending Trump administration, as much of it takes place in 2015-16. There are always artistic liberties taken in film, but I suspect that the fear expressed by the good guys of an impending Trump administration was real. The good powers that be in the DOJ and in Baltimore probably did feel they were under the gun to get reform into the police department before Trump ascended to his throne and dictated, "Not so fast, good guys..." He very well could have mucked it all up. The police- black and white- were clearly having their way with black lives, for fun and profit. I think we know now that Trump would be against rolling that back. He was deeply entrenched in curing crime in the US by imploring cops to "not be nice". You know how he is. It's like in all mob movies where the safest place to be in the city is where the gangsters hang out. To the intellectually challenged, that is read as, "Look at all the good the mafia does! They keep their neighborhood safe!" This is why Trump's foray with the National Guard and federal agencies was first in Washington DC. HIS neighborhood. Interestingly, he declared DC devoid of crime after ten days. Yeah, sure. National Guardspersons raking and mulching is all any city needs to eliminate crime, like nobody has ever seen before.

The NG had less success though, in Portland, LA and Chicago. I don't even know if they are in the Charlotte portion of the US tour. I believe the idea was a show of force and protection of the ICEholes as they got up to speed on their fuckery. Trump has been talking about forming an elite force within the NG to handle crises in US cities. This is very strange to me as the NG is 50-state-centric and generally under the control of each state's governor. For a very honest depiction of the Guard and what their mission is, look to the first "Rambo" movie, "First Blood". When the Sheriff's town is overwhelmed by ex- Green Beret John Rambo, the Guard is called in to hunt him down. These men (and women still, so far) did go to boot camp and learn to shoot and do Army stuff, but their commitment after 6 months of active duty is one weekend a month, two weeks in the summer, and aiding in natural disasters when called upon by their state's governor. Other than that, they are your neighbors and have real jobs as dentists and store clerks. Their mission is not crimefighting. For Trump to create a special unit of, well, elite shock troops to hit US cities hard and fast, would be quite an expensive undertaking.

See, each branch of our militaries has their own elite units. Some have more than one. They are all the best of the best of their branches. Like, everyone has heard of SEAL Team 6. They killed Bin Laden! Or did they? I hear things. You hear about the SEAL's all the time because they love to talk, write books and help out Hollywood in films about SEAL's. You may believe (as they do) that they are the best of the best, but that is them talking. Most of what I see on YouTube, and such is that the Army's Delta Force is far and away the most elite outfit. And I think they may or may not officially exist! This complicates things, doesn't it?

The point is, none of these units- real or imagined- are in business to attack Americans on US soil. Not a one of our military branches is allowed to do that either. This is why I think Trump would have a hard time creating a force within the Guard to specifically target Americans. He has the ICEholes to do that. He would be better off training those fuckheads and that is what is probably actually going on. I don't know whether the ICEholes take the usual oath or not, the one where the military, FBI, congress and maybe cops(?) swear to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and yada yada. That oath, as several commie/socialist/treasonous democrats recently pointed out refers to following "lawful orders" as a member of the military, with the President being the commander in Chief, where the buck starts. Trump took umbrage at the distinction of "lawful" from the nitpicky dems. He wants to hang them.

(Heavy sigh) We'll see how this goes. Whatever is left of 'mainstream republicans' is getting really tired of Trump's no longer charming, addled-brain ramblings. Some are starting to swim in the mainstream again. Look at congressman Massie. It seems like only yesterday his family posed for their Christmas cards with assault rifles. Now he wants to punish pedophiles. That's 180 degrees from the regime's actions of late. I'm not on his Xmas card list, but I'm interested to see how he poses the family this season.
