Today's special commenter is one-year-ago me and his (well, my) thoughts on the election. I posted this on my Facebook back then. 

Can I over-analyze the election for a moment? I mean- everyone else is.
Nancy Pelosi says Biden should have dropped out sooner and that there should have been a primary. That tells me that old gal was a-plottin' for a long time. Evidently, she wanted her guy- Gavin Newsom- in there. He seems like a good choice if we were ever to have elections again. Handsome, well-spoken, smart- quite a contrast to Kamala Harris who is merely beautiful, well-spoken and smart. But I don't think Gavin would have made a difference. I think our loss was inevitable.
Some are saying "woke" cost us the election. People just don't want to be woke, dammit! That's why they went for Trump!
Fuck me, but people are really saying that. As far as opinions go, that most definitely is one. Could it be right? Of course not. It's stupid.
There's a little truth in there though. I'm not a fan of political correctness myself. I get a little lost on some of the pronouns for example. I'm all for people being who they want to be, but don't chastise me for being 67 years old and not up to speed on all the new rules. That's kinda ageist, I think...
Woke didn't cost us the election. I think it was brain-dead Trump voters. You ever meet any of these maga? They're very frivolous idiots. Do you know that this election had the largest voter turnout ever? Yet fewer votes were cast. Do the math on that! How does that happen? In North Carolina and a few swing states, Trump won. But down ballot democrat governors, Lt. governors, AG's etc. won in those same states. Who votes in a felon for POTUS, but makes good down-ticket choices for other important positions? There's no method to that madness.
Women, especially those of the white pigmentation, were supposed to save us all. They didn't. 52% of them went for Trump. Black women came through though, as they always do. You go, girlfriends! Latino men not only failed us, but they also failed themselves. Imagine listening to Trump and he's talking about deporting brown people and thinking: "He doesn't mean me! He's talking about 'those people'. Goddamn. Latino men are a lot more American than even they realize.
Back to record turnout and low vote totals. I've been hearing there's some 20 million uncounted votes missing. There probably are. I've got a call into the governor of Georgia about those votes, but I don't think he'll be able to find them. Does he ever?
Do the missing votes matter? Jesus- what COULD happen with that? She's a human being, she's not going to whine and order us to storm the capitol for her. We don't work that way. No one should work that way.
We lost because the largest voting block this election was Asshole-Americans. If you're offended by that, well, don't be so PC. I hear that's a bad thing.
Be careful what you wish for- you might get it. We are getting the country that 'those people' deserve. And we have to deal with it. It's all we can do.

Molehills On the Battlefield

An odd exchange with a follower earlier. To another poster I added to his complaint about the recent trend of side-by-side reaction videos They are dumb and pretty much unnecessary. My addition was that I didn't like the ones where someone is telling a joke, and on the other side of the screen is a clip of someone laughing outrageously. Why? And perhaps worse, the split screen is used to tell a story, and the other side is some inexplicable B-roll of some unrelated product being made. Again- why? Are these first world problems? Yes. But I wasn't crying or praying to Trump that these 'creators' be deported to a Sudanese prison. I was just kinda bitching. Is that wrong? To one follower, it was! Her Soft Underbelly Exposed

One of the better interviewers you'll see on YouTube is Mark Laita of the "Soft, White Underbelly" channel. It's my understanding he is primarily a photographer whose interest has always been photographing the unseen segments of society- the street people, prostitutes, criminals and kinda freaks of life, that we generally ignore. Maybe it's all in the editing, but his success seems to be in letting his subjects talk without too much prompting from him. It's their story.  This episode was with a porn star- Addison Vodka. Well, that's what she goes by. Though I have seen my share of porn, I'm not on a first or last name basis with most of these people. So, I fired up the Pornhub to see what she what she was like in action. She does a good job for a girl with such a schpankable bottom. No doubt. But she was an enlightening interview.
