It's It's a Ballroom Blitz, Ballroom Blitz
I had no intention of watching the White House Correspondents Dinner last night, because those things aren't funny like they used to be. This was going to be the first one Trump ever attended whilst president. That's interesting because he had four opportunities to attend the shenanigans in his first term, but passed because, for a fat guy, he has very thin skin. He does not take teasing very well. He takes umbrage instead and he doesn't do well at that either. We may never know, but since part of his charm is insulting the press corps and journalists, he might have had some real zingers lined up about Kaitlyn Collins that would really put the fourth estate in their place, probably for good. Lard knows the {{{FAKENEWS}}} really needs to be destroyed and that was one of the things he was elected to do that Kamala Harris could not be bothered to do because she's all political and doesn't golf. And she hasn't been dreaming of a ballroom for 150 years like a man would. Stupid bitch.
Evidently, there were no comedians allowed at this event. Jimmy Kimmel would have been an excellent choice, but Trump doesn't like him for some reason. Instead, they had a guy called "Oz- The Mentalist" warm up the crowd. I'm not talking about Mehmet Oz, the mental case, who does something in Trump's cabinet. Nor am I talking about Simon Baker of "The Mentalist" which was a pretty fun show back in 2008 to 2015. Nope. This Oz is some sort of mind-reader and a magician and makes his living doing party tricks. Party tricks are the staple of the GOP and the reason we can't have nice things. There being no funny maga comedians and a clown being way too obvious, they went with this OZ guy for entertainment.
And that's as much as I know about that. The night was cut short because some 'heavily armed' guy from California sprinted like a motherfucker past the guards and magnometers (the things that check for guns except at Trump j-6 rallies because no one who attends those "...are going to hurt ME" as Trump has said out loud). The guy was really fast! No one, not even the great and powerful Oz could have seen this guy coming. Though, props to Karoline Leavitt because she had cheerfully predicted that there would be shots fired that evening. She was right, although at first the people inside the low-class ballroom that highlights why we need a safer one, thought some clumsy bitch waiter had dropped a tray of plates. People generally think gunshots sound like firecrackers or cars backfiring, but that's outside. Inside they evidently sound like plates crashing. But if it had been plates, the diners would have cheered, because that's what people do in every restaurant, I've ever been in when some poor server drops a tray. People are jerks and this event was a jerk fest, so they knew it was gunshots. Didn't seem to care much though.
Interestingly, the Secret Service guys rescued VP Vance before Trump. Maybe they didn't want to wake Trump? 🤷 The chain of command got a little yanked there. Or, since this had all the earmarks of a staged attempt, perhaps Trump missed his cue to stand up, pump his fist in the air, and vaingloriously declare, "FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!" like at the show in Butler, Pa. That just seemed really odd to me when I saw it this morning. I wonder if the SS agents involved will be reassigned over this. The ones that dallied in Butler were not. They took their time getting Trump off the stage there too, but I kind of think that was the plan for the photo op. There doesn't appear to be a flag-raising-at Iwo Jima- Kodak moment coming out of this one.
So, I don't know what really happened last night. I don't think the powers that be have worked that out yet. If, by chance, it was a real assassination attempt, it was a bad one. Hinckley had shot Reagan outside that same Hilton, back in the 20th century. This attacker- lightning fast as he was- had no chance of getting into the ballroom to do his evil doer stuff. And I don't know if somebody dropped the ball, but they took him alive. Unless he gets Epsteined in jail, he is around to tell his story and that can be a loose end. Thomas Crooks in Butler was immediately silenced. No one- not even Trump- talks about him anymore. Isn't that odd? A guy who cannot shut up about losing the 2020 election, never talks about the guy who tried to end his life. The thing was rigged and everything!
If you think it's a stupid way to get a half-billion-dollar ballroom built, you are right. But look at the participants. ANYTHING goes with this regime. The stupider the better.
