Maggie's Not Gonna Like This

 One observation I have about rival blogger Maggie (onethingyonly.blogspot.com) is that on Bluesky, she rarely likes any posts- not even the posts of her rival blogger, Ferrerman! At times she throws likes around like they are manhole covers! As inconceivable as that sounds, it's twue! Little known fact: Young Maggie- an adorable child- was thisclose to winning the starring role in the nationwide commercial ad campaign for Life cereal. Older non-readers might recall that the ads featured instead, a little boy named "Mikey" who liked Life cereal. See, Maggie didn't like the cereal, and being true to herself, she told the director, "Life sucks!" I don't recall liking Life cereal myself, so I get that. I was more of a Cap'n Crunch and Frosted Flakes ferrerman myself until I graduated to bacon and eggs. 

But enough about teasing Maggie. I often forget to like stuff myself. Only, being a good person, I feel bad about it. Maybe Maggie does too. She's a good person. A lot of posters may see likes as inconsequential. To me it simply means, "I read your post and I agree with what you say." That's pretty much it. As with yesterday's post here (which Maggie DID like BTW) people need to know that they are being heard. We have to support each other. We need to encourage each other. Likes do that. A lot of famous posters get millions of likes no matter what they post. I don't like that! Honestly, if a famous poster gets a billion likes for just showing up with some generic post about- anything- what's to like?

An odd exchange with a follower earlier. To another poster I added to his complaint about the recent trend of side-by-side reaction videos They are dumb and pretty much unnecessary. Her Soft Underbelly Exposed

One of the better interviewers you'll see on YouTube is Mark Laita of the "Soft, White Underbelly" channel. It's my understanding he is primarily a photographer whose interest has always been photographing the unseen segments of society- the street people, prostitutes, criminals and kinda freaks of life, that we generally ignore. Maybe it's all in the editing, but his success seems to be in letting his subjects talk without too much prompting from him. It's their story.  This episode was with a porn star- Addison Vodka. Well, that's what she goes by. Though I have seen my share of porn, I'm not on a first or last name basis with most of these people. What Are You Thinking

 Had a guy at the bar one day ask me what I liked to do in my spare time. You get that a lot tending bar. Some are blunter, asking what your real job  is because bartending at any age can't possibly be anybody's real job. That's what he was getting at. So, I told him I like to write. He asked if I had ever been published, and no, I had not. "Well, you're not a writer then", he declared. Oh. Thanks for clearing that up, asshole. How about you? Oh, he golfed.  "Are you on the PGA tour", I asked.
