Listless America

What does a list of anything prove? It proves that someone made a list and wants you to think that well- there you go- it's on the list! I went to Walmart yesterday and ribeye's were on the list. I didn't get any ribeye though because they were like $34! But they were on the list...

So, every clear-thinking man and woman in America- and maga too- wants to see a list of names of the guys on Jeffery Epstein's Island as if that itself is all one would legally need to put all those scumbags under the Guantanamo Bay prison for life plus 20 years. 

I'm no lawyer, but it doesn't work that way, it can't, and it shouldn't. There's an old saw about how a District Attorney/prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich. That pertains to grand juries, but not to actual courtrooms. In a similar vein, it's like Trump's threatened lawsuits. He can threaten CBS with a suit but if the 60 Minutes suit ever made it to court, he'd lose BIGLY. In layman's term, he didn't have shit. Paramount settled because Trump has his own FCC chairman who works for him. Paramount wanted to sell or acquire another entity and that would be subject to FCC approval. So, a $16 million dollar gift to Trump means a $2 BILLION dollar deal goes through. That's gangster capitalism! It sucks, it's stupid but that is how things work. 

Several years ago, when Epstein was arrested, they got his little, black book. It had the names and phone numbers of everybody he dealt with in life and business. That's a list. But it just meant that he knew people. It didn't mean all these people went to, or even knew of, his sex island. After all, he was a big-time financer, and people knew him for other reasons besides sex with 13-year-old girls. 

All this clamoring for the release of "the list" by people on the left and right is ridiculous. It is moving the goal posts. Some man- even a woman- could make a list of his visitors to the island and that would be what it takes to put these assholes in prison? 

No. 

You want a list? There's a loooong list of women who have credibly accused Donald J. Trump of rape and other sexual abuse. Victims. Witnesses. It happened to them. They have talked about it in public and testified in court. He has paid millions to settle his 'affairs' with these young women- and boys. It's all out there. His name being on or off a list doesn't mean shit. It's just a slap in the face to the victims, a cold, abstract way of silencing them again. "Well, there's no list..." 

Also, it is a way of telling the public that, lacking a list of cold, hard names. there nothing more we can do about this. Why, you can testify until Hell freezes over, but without a list...

Fuck me. That's gaslighting to the nth degree. Don't fall for it. The case against Epstein et al is complicated enough (good as it is) without dismissing it all as, "He's dead, she's in prison, end of story, nothing to see here".
