In a Normal Country This Would Not be Normal

 Is it just me, or does there seem to be an urgency about this Trump regime? Does fascism always move this quickly? The historians always tell us to look for the little changes that happen in a government that sort of lull you into a bigger change, much later on. Everybody talks about Hitler, but he came to power in Germany in 1933 and it wasn't until 1939 that he went about invading Poland to start the war that would become known as "WWII". He prepared. This Trump regime is acting like their hair is on fire. It has been 6 months since he took the oath (without his hand on the Bible) and most people would probably agree that it feels like 6 years.

Well, Hitler was a younger man. At 79, Trump is damn near 80. He has an expiration date approaching, like we all do, according to Senator Joanie Ernst. We're all day to day, but if you look at that fat slob and consider his eating habits and know that his only exercise is swinging a golf club and then riding on a golf cart to swing the club again, if you were a republican, you would think Medicaid was wasted on him. 

There was absolutely NO republican on the face of the earth now or - ever in history- who could do what Trump has done and get away with it. That is not said with reverence. Can you imagine Ted, Cruz, Marco Rubio or Rand Paul raping teen girls AND becoming president of the United States? Of course not. I've already spoken of Trump's being a perfect storm of assholery never before seen in this once fairly great country. So, we know it had to be Trump. And it has to be Trump right now and for as long as they have him. Thus, the urgency.

Add to that the fact that republicans have been working on taking over the country since after the Civil War when they actually peaked at being a party of the people. Those are your little changes historians warn about. They call America the greatest country in the history of the world, while fucking hating most of the people in it. "Fiscally conservative" is nothing more than a more palatable way of saying, "Fuck poor people!" And they are really saying, "Fuck everybody who isn't rich and us!" The brass knuckles have always been on, but now the gloves are off. They want you to feel the full pain. 

Trump is not only the only guy who could get them in The White House in the first place, but he's the only guy who could get them in The White House in the second place too. And America is the only country where such insanity could happen, twice. In a normal country, this would not be normal. 

Can you imagine if this guy was like 43 years old? That was how old Hitler was in 1933. It's comical now when Trump says he should have a third term (because he was cheated in 2020...) but pretty ridiculous given his age and health. It's the thought that counts with republicans, no matter how thoughtless it might be. Just think of 30 years of Trump golfing, saying stupid shit, and not only dismantling democracy, but expanding on fascism in what's left of our everyday lives. He is the bitchtitular head of the republican party now, but most of us know he's not running anything but his mouth. He doesn't know that. He's a malignant narcissist and believes his own publicity. That is why they love him. 

However, the billionaires and think-tankers who back him, are quite a bit more pragmatic than he is. They know they have got to use him before they lose him. Ideally for them he survives his term and then they spring JD Vance and their thousand-year Reich on a public already used to trumpism. But if he has a grabber today, tomorrow or a month from now, "President Vance" is a much harder sell. I'm pretty sure Maga is nowhere near as enamored of him as they are Trump. I wonder if we wouldn't get "AI Trump"? It would make perfect sense to a lot of stupid people if Trump were to live on in AI perpetuity. Before AI some of them wanted to do that with Justice Scalia after he passed. Just come up with a computer program based on how Scalia practiced his supreme courting in the past and apply it to contemporaneous legal dilemmas. Now, however AI works (and I don't know), you could enter in a mix of stupid things Trump says, and sex with teenaged girls and it would spit out a probably very realistic semblances of the Trump we all know. Probably with 6 fingers though is all. They might work that bug out. Probably got Grok on it even as we speak. 

So, I guess I'm saying it could have been worse. A younger, lucid Trump didn't happen to us. We dodged that metaphorical bullet just like he dodged the metaphorical one in the Butler Hoax. Whew! It could be worse. And it will be. The Trump Train keeps rolling along.
