Who Do You Love?

When cell phones first came into common usage, the only guys on the paint crew who ran out to get them were the rats and guys who had to be in near-constant contact with their wives. They'd get calls all day from the old lady, talk for five or ten minutes and then say, "I love you." Invariably, one of us would then ask the guy, "Was that (the boss)?" Much mirth-making and frivolity!

Well, I don't know if I started that trend, but I know I started this one. Whenever I had to talk to our bosses (162 IQ Lou or Little Jimmy) I'd end the calls saying, "I love you". MORE mirth-making and frivolity. They played along. I told Little Jimmy many times that when he wasn't being a dick, he was a pretty good guy. This wasn't necessarily true, but I know how to talk to people.

It was fun for a while and helped pass the time.
