The Big Ugly King
My homepage on the laptop is MSN. It's chockful of McNews type stuff that is sometimes interesting. Like everything else it's algorithm-driven and they want me to read about purchases I've recently made (or thought about...) and they seem to think I care about someone's interesting trade ideas for my Chicago Cubs to make. I don't. Baseball is very real to me, so I deal with trades when they actually happen. It's baseball, not politics.
Well, they pissed me off today with a slideshow of how the Second Amendment will never go away. I don't care how much republicans and rural people like it, nor is it lost on me that guns "...were instrumental in winning both the American revolution and the Civil War (no shit?! Hadn't thought about that). And it's not like evil democrats are poised to repeal the 2A- or that they ever fvcking were. So, just McNews filler maybe?
Don't they know who our King is? If that "Big Ugly Bill" passes the senate, that big ugly idiot will be our King. Kings don't like armed peasants. Kings don't like rebellion unless they're doing it. I've read that the 1100-page bill has things in it like the president can delay elections if he wants and doesn't have to listen to judges or abide by their rulings. How does that work in democracy?
Oh- and speaking of democracy, evidently the King spoke at West Point and told those young 2nd lieutenants that they would be installing democracy "at gunpoint" throughout the world. Well, that doesn't sound like democracy either. We had democracy here for a while in January, but we don't anymore. Now they want to "Make the world England" as the Brit's used to say?
So, might the 2A go away at the King's whim in the near future? I think it will. You suspend or literally tear up the constitution and all that good shit goes away. I can imagine republicans nodding approvingly of the King tearing up the constitution- to make America great again, ya know- but then being asked about their losing the 2A. There's no doubt in my mind that they'll reply: "Oh, you can't do that- it's in the Constitution..." Yeah, Homer, it's in the constitution the King just killed!
Yeah, oops.
If you're stupid enough to vote for a King because he'll "protect the 2A" and maybe you just kinda like his racism too, you deserve what you get. The rest of us don't.
I can't speculate on Cubs trades, but I can speculate on what our King might do. If it's stupid and it benefits him, he'll do it. Obviously, no one can stop him for some reason. No one really seems to want to. Isn't that strange?
