It's a Living
I'm confused about penises. A lot of women like the big ones and guys do as well (probably more so) but even the leading ladies of porn say they prefer average sized penises for their non-business screwing. Is it like the guy who drives huge monster trucks for a living going to the arena in his four-door sedan because, well, it's not practical to drive the monster on the road, what with bridges and cars getting in the way. For their personal pleasure, many women choose an average size dildo over the big uns. Who buys the big uns then? Bachelorette partygoers, I reckon. Women have senses of humor too, I know that's right.
So, I watched a few videos on YouTube where porn people interview each other about the ins and outs of their business. And it is a business. One guy, Dredd, is the biggest star (pun intended) and he's a very nice, 50-year-old black man who just happens to have a 13" penis. Porn evidently is woke with the DEI and stuff. I don't know if they have much longer with this administration. That pun was not intended, but I'll allow it.
The videos were fairly educational. The pornstars all seem to know each other but there doesn't appear to be much dating on the job. Seemed like a lot of them were single. That tracks. Go home after a hard day at work and your boyfriend wants to get a little somethin'-somethin' and you sigh and say: "Honey, no, I gave at the office. It was a 20-man gangbang and- just gimme a few days..." I think people outside of the business are referred to as "normies" and it would seem to be an easy call that jealousy issues could arise, even if one was sure they wouldn't at the start.
I dated a call-girl in the early 80's. She showed me her little black book. I knew full well what she did for a living, and it honestly didn't faze me. I had recently gotten divorced from Laura who was stepping out on me every chance she got, trying to make up for lost time with her new nose and whatever else was new about her, giving it away. A good-looking professional like Angellina making a living at it, seemed okay by me. Nobody was getting hurt. I wasn't in love with her, so anonymous men didn't haunt the back of my mind as with Laura. Nothing personal, just business this time.
I still think porn is a stupid way to make a living. It is essentially prostitution any way you color it, but that doesn't make it all bad. It's called "sex work" now due to well-meaning liberal, democrats, and I think that inside every sex worker- at any level- is someone just trying to get on in life, however they can. It might be the epitome of that saw about doing something you love, and you'll never work a day in your life.
Despite his sizeable fame, the aforementioned Dredd acknowledged that the woman is always the star, that the focus is on her. They get paid more than the men. I can't think of any other profession where that is the case. Male or female, aren't they both getting used for their bodies, equally? Not really, I guess.
There was a contrary video I saw where a woman was talking about the money side of the business. Now, that is decidedly male. Pornhub is the largest, most well-known purveyor of porn today. It's actually based in Canada. Those nice, polite canuckleheads! You just never know about people. It's like a half-billion-dollar industry with hedge funds investing in it. Your 401k might be involved. Wear latex gloves when you take that money out. Very mainstream now, probably not at all mob connected as in the old days. Ain't that America (even though it's Canada) that capitalism will always find a way to legally take over once-criminal enterprises like porn, opioids and weed? Legitimate businessmen Fuggeddaboudit.
Now this woman though, did not paint a pretty picture of the porn industry. Pornhub itself had some 30 moderators whose job it was to watch the thousands of videos that came in each day to look for underage performers and possible actual rapes. Pornhub had apparently been showing those, and they got hinky and then dumped thousands of videos that may have crossed those lines. How do you visually determine someone's age in a video? They were coming in from Eastern Europe and Latin America- all over the world- where ID's might not be checked well, if at all. The woman said at the time, Facebook had employed 30,000 moderators compared to Pornhub's 30. I recall reading years ago that the burnout rate for FB mods was very high. That might have partially been due to FB offshoring their moderation to India at ridiculously low rates, like $1 an hour. Whatever they were paying Pornhub mods, imagine the psychological ramifications of watching good, bad and ugly people having sex hour after hour, day in, day out. She actually became good friends with a guy who had been a mod. It affected him greatly. No doubt. Why did he do it? He needed the money...
There you have it. Porn is a living. It's still not going to get you a TV series or a feature film, so girls and boys do it for the money and the sex and take it from there. Like a lot of actors, maybe what they really want to do is direct. I suspect that most figure on meeting the right person in life and settling down in a normie life. More power to them. For some, it just may be a fun way to finance their tattoos. I hate to sound like a commie, but isn't the exploitation of labor Job 1 in capitalism?
