I'm Just Sitting Here Watching the River Flow

Republicans are taking advantage of the Biden health news in a way that only republicans can. I'm not referring to the meanness. They are cvnts. We expect cruelty from them. What irritates me is that the Trump gang is also coming at it from the 'we the people dodged a bullet' angle. Yeah, we could have had a senile POTUS who was also dying of cancer! Thank Gawd for Trump, eh? The fittest mind of any president EVER- and he's cancer-free! We're so fvcking lucky...

Well, had Biden stayed in the race, we'd probably soon be seeing, President Harris. We'd be in good hands. None of this horrible Trump shit would have happened. In republican minds we'd be back in the carnage of the Biden administration (he was killing the country, ya know) and the media would be turning the page of their playbook to, "Can she lead?" They wouldn't be happy but fvck 'em, they never are. And republicans would be on offense where they do better anyway. They are very offensive people. 

Because I'm on Bluesky and Facebook, I know that everything is a conspiracy or a brilliant deflection. There's an explanation for everything. Sometimes a whole bunch. Pick one, it could be right. Republicans have the Project 2025 playbook to work off of, but you can't tell me they aren't winging it. There is no brilliance behind this shit. It's not like those photos of Hitler and his generals looking at a table-sized map of Europe plotting which country to invade next. Maybe it is behind the scenes, but not when Trump's around. That shit bores him! Everybody knows that. He's an idiot. His henchpersons and the media can pretend he's not an idiot, but he is. You've heard him talk. Case closed.

Today I learned China is taking Trump's wet dream of a golden dome missile defense system, personally. That's very wise of China. I'm sure somewhere in Sun Tzu it says something about letting your enemy waste his money on stupid defense systems they don't need; by making them believe you fear it. Maybe it loses something in the translation, but you get what I mean. Supposedly that's what Reagan did with Star Wars (NOT the movies) to Russia in the 1980's. Russia fell for it and went broke trying to counter it. 

Trump's golden dome idea is based on Israel's "Iron Dome". Their system works for them because they are a small country surrounded by enemies of similar size, who want to kill them. Here in the US, we're surrounded by Mexico and Canada. They aren't out to kill us. And we've long had inter-continental ballistic missiles protecting us from countries that may have the desire to kill us like China, Russia and Mattel, and have the talent to do so. That's all we need in this neck of the woods. Trump's Golden Dome (I think that's what it's called- might have a "Big Beautiful" in there) is just either bullshit, or a grift op. Probably both. 

Generals are prone to fighting the last war. In 1939, the French built The Maginot Line, a state-of-the-art defense system of guns and bunkers to thwart a German invasion. Historians agree it was excellent. Problem was, Hitler flew over it with planes that had greatly improved since WWI, 20 years earlier. Pretty cool of Hitler to do that. He was an idiot as well. I guess he had his moments. 

I'm glad for the world that Hitler was an idiot. I'm sad for the US that Trump is an idiot. He's not fooling the rest of the world though. They are on to him. It's just 77 million assholes and the MSM here that are fooled. If China, Russia or Mattel ever did fantasize about taking the US over, they know now that that dream could come true. All they have to do is sit by the river and wait for the body of their enemy to flow by.

Flipping the Script

 When it comes to TV and movies, I don't like to know how the sausage is made. But full disclosure, I find it hard to resist the inside info when it comes to "The Sopranos". As luck would have it, there are a bazillion YouTubes about all things Soprano.  It's kinda crazy to me that people that people spend so much time gossiping about a fictional show. "Why did this happen? Why that? How 'bout this theory?"  Shit like that. My first thought is always, ask the writer. It's their story. It's not ours to add anything to it. It's not "The Bible", after all.  Story arcs are different though. I've been seeing a lot of a particular arc in The Sopranos that always befuddled me. Marisa Tomei Likes Me

Marisa Tomei- I always thought I had a chance with her... That's a line from a "Seinfeld" episode where George Costanza said that about Marisa Tomei, and then as the script would have it, he met Marisa Tomei and they hit it off. Every mention of Marisa Tomei on the internet- if I see it- I will post it. Seinfeld fans get it.  So, I did that last week on a Facebook post and quickly got a like from Marisa Tomei. This caused me click on the profile, curious as to whether the actress was on FB or if it were a fan page.  I've gotten likes from actors before. Some I think were legit because they were just likes. Some of the cast of the "Sopranos" liked a post I made about the controversial ending of the series, where it suddenly went black- and that was it. Series over.
