Where Are They Now?
For at least 40 years the NRA has been telling us that the true meaning of the Second Amendment is the right- nay, the duty- of the people with guns is to oppose a tyrannical government.
Well, now that we have a tyrannical government, there is neither a word nor a pew pew out of them. What the fvck were they training for? This government is disappearing people to foreign prisons without due process, or as deportations generally go, to the country of their origin. They may be suspected Venezuelan gang members, but they are being sent to El Salvador. Why? Well, because it's El Salvador that we have the contract with and it all comes out in the Spanish wash anyways, correcto? Perhaps it's nothing personal, just business?
It's not that I expect a bunch of militia types who love several parts of our US Constitution to get up in arms about some Spanish folks being deported, I don't. They are not deep thinkers. They can't see the bigly picture of, I could be next... They just can't. When you are singularly focused on one thing, as they are with their love of guns, it doesn't invite thinking outside the ammo box. I've always viewed the NRA as a business. They represent big guns and ammo like any publicist would rep for any corporation. And they pimp guns and rights like a pimp would sell a woman.
For the last forty some years, we have been told that the democrats were coming for your guns! What is that? It's a perpetual close out sale. It's business. How do they do it: Volume, Volume, VOLUME! What's the message there? Buy more guns and ammo to feed the government beast when they come to collect? Kinda seemed like it. Now, I know they were really saying prepare to fight, but it sure sounded like a sales pitch.
Sounds even more like one now because they aren't making noise about fighting. Arguably, they like this current regime. Maybe that was the idea all along. Buy guns & ammo and intimidate the libs into capitulation and they'll get the country they want. That desired country is one with small government, little or no regulation, and no black, brown, Asian or gay people. Women? Sure. They are where babies are made and happy fun time is our God-given right, just after guns. Was Joe Biden or Kamala Harris going to get them to that promised land? Of course not. Only Trump could do that.
All the vainglorious recitation of the founders about giving me liberty or death, and the Tree of Liberty needing to be refreshed with the blood of tyrants was just theater. Good theater, at least for a time, but then the show went on the road without the original cast, and it just got old and derivative.
One of the more comically insane things the NRA ever did, was to send some of their people over to Russia, as if they were going to open up a Moscow branch. They really did. I don't recall much of the cast beyond former sheriff David Clarke, who is their black guy. I don't know if they thought fascist Putin would really be interested in a second amendment for his subjects. Maybe. If nothing else, they served to soften Putin up for maga consumption. He wasn't about to give his people guns no matter the profit involved. He, like any dictator knows that guns kill people and people kill dictators, so don't let the people have guns. That's Tyranny 101. Only in America can you sell Biden/Harris as dictators because they want to (hawk tuah) "give undeserving people healthcare". Damn, we dumb. Well, at least 77 million of us are.
Trump and his spanking new US Attorney General, Pam Bondi, have openly talked about going after the guns. Maybe Trump isn't as stupid as he looks and is. He can't be the first dictator to believe his own propaganda about his invincibility. He won't be the first one to allow his subjects to go armed. I mean- come on...
What happens to the NRA in the militia gangster's paradise they jerked off to for decades? How do you pimp guns when all the usual suspects have been killed, incarcerated or deported? You don't. Tough to sell the 2A when the Constitution it was written into has been destroyed.
Well, you don't. Just when the US needs the NRA the most, they turned the other cheek. That's not good business, is it?
