Thanks For the Coup, We'll Take It From Here

Now that maga republicans are forced to play defense (which they hate) you hear a lot about how fucking horrible life was under Joe Biden. Well, you hear that, but you don't hear details, of course, but that's because it's all bullshit deflection. People didn't have to worry a lot as they lay their heads down at night when Joe was president. It was America and there might be a school shooting the next day or a weather event, but you didn't have to fret stock markets, firings or people being kidnapped and sent to foreign prisons. Life was pretty good, unless you were maga longing for those horrible things to happen.

You would think they'd be thrilled right now and excited about getting even more thrilled under Trump. They are still living in the past though and complaining about how awful things were under Biden- still lacking details though. Defense is tough, especially for them. You try running Trump three times. Even the dumbest maga might know how stupid they sound when they defend him. Eh, maybe not.

This country is far from perfect. Face it: we love it because we live here. Most people love the country they were born in and think it's the greatest. Can't argue with that, though we tend to sit back and scoff at them because, we're America. FUCK YEAH!

History, if we are to have history in the future, has a lot of bad shit in it about our past. Slavery. Genocide. Misogyny. You know the drill and it's a long one. But you know, you there's one thing that should be added to that long list of American defects. Republicans.

They are the reason we can't have nice things. Maybe that's harsh and you can soften it by saying that the two-party system is the culprit and you might have a valid point there, but as long as there is a republican party involved, whether it's one, two, three or one hundred parties, there is danger to the republic. They are not on the side of the people. They had a nice start in the 1850's and gave us Abraham Lincoln, but they have long since lost the plot of democracy.

Well, arguably the whole country has. They are just doggedly determined to burn it all to the ground. I think I said this before, but maybe they should do just that. These are people who cry out in pain, "HOW ARE WE GOING TO PAY FOR THAT??!!" when it is suggested by democrats that we feed hungry children. Then, when democrats outline how we can pay for that, republicans still reject it, on principle. How do you deal with people like that? Better question: WHY do you deal with people like that? Their principles are "don't spend money on people" and "don't tax rich people". Since they ended slavery, that's all they've been good for.

Loyal opposition? Loyal to whom? Not America. Not we the people. This DOGE fiasco is highlighting that, as they call spending, "fraud". How could it be fraud to cut $3 billion on spending on National Parks, when those parks bring in $55 billion in revenue? Did they sleep during Math School? If that is fraud, they don't know what fraud is or where to look for it. It's technically not fraud that taxpayers cough up $3 million every time Trump golfs, but it is waste. Government may scoff at $3 million as chump change, but when you times it by 52 weeks and 4 years, that's BIGLY bucks. They still complain about Obama having golfed (old habits die hard) and he was 2.5 presidents ago.

Republicans whine, complain and obstruct growth. They are the reason we can't have nice things. In short, they are assholes. Their current effort at one-party rule illustrates that. We'll need one-party rule in the future, but it can't be them.

Say what you will about democrats- most of its true- but you cannot deny (with a clear mind, that is) that democrats are the party of the people. That would be us. The thing is that for damn near 250 years America has gone on despite republicans and the smart democrats in D.C. just don't have the heart to upset the apple cart. This is where the republicans come in and perform what could be the most valuable service they have performed since they took credit for freeing the slaves: This coup. This fucked up, insane burning down of American democracy.

This needs to happen. Republicans in or out of power will never allow democrats the ability to fix what is broken, and democrats will never take it upon themselves to do the necessary restructuring. This situation requires a really stupid and futile gesture be done on somebody's part, and republicans are just the guys to do it.

When a forest burns, nature replenishes the devastation with new growth. Takes time, but the trees and plant life come back glorious and stronger. Republicans want to burn the country to the ground. Not for new growth though. That's us. That's our job. We need to fight them in the trenches and on the beaches. We're not going to lay down. There will be blood. They want it that way. They'll get it. But when it's over- and nothing is over until we say it's over- America will rise from the ashes as one nation, with one government, serving ALL of the people. Except republicans. Fuck 'em. They are the reason this had to happen.

  1. Yep, it's looking bad, but if we get out of this , big, big changes. I thought during the Biden era liberals were sex trafficking and eating people.

  2. They'll be told to knock it off in the future. Can't be having that. I think Barbara Streisand said it best when she sang: "People. People who eat, people. They're THE HUNGRIEST PEOPLE...in the world..."
