America Is Busting Out All Over
I recall an old Mike Royko column about a fine you man stopping in a snowstorm to help out a couple of guys whose car had become stuck. Once freed, this nice young boy chatted up the two men and, probably out of a good business sense, offered up a little free advertising for his family's business a local chain of shoe stores. The two men were very interested in the shoe business, and probably very grateful to have become stuck, and then unstuck by this fine young man.
This was decades ago, and the details are long since lost on me. In fact, a couple years ago I was on a Facebook group that was tragically dedicated to the history of the Chicago Outfit and I made a comment about the incident, in case any of the other posters remembered the column or the story. They remembered so much about which guy lived where and who killed who, and dis and dat about yada and yada, but they seemed to think I was pulling this story out of my ass. I had quickly assessed these people as a bunch of older Chicago and suburban types (whom may or may not have been Italian) who were outfit adjacent- fans- and they probably referred to the living room of their homes as "the frunchroom".
See, the two guys in the car that wintry day, were gangsters. Thankful as they were for the fine young man's help, they saw an opportunity to help the father out of his business as a way of saying thanks. However they did it, they wheedled their way in, and in time, took over the business. With gangsters, no good deed goes unpunished.
What a presidential thing to do!
What Trump is doing right now, is a bust out of America. He has taken over and is moving goods and services out the back door for fun and profit, like it's Sonny Bunz restaurant in "Goodfellas" or a shoe store in Chicagoland. Over-extend the country's credit and sell off inventory for fun and profit. Bankruptcy and ruination are the end result. It's a big payday for the Trump Crime family, like nobody's ever seen before.
We've had recessions in the US before, but never on purpose. Certain people may have dreamed of busting out America, but only Trump is doing it.
Who is going to receive these tariff riches? Who is getting all the money saved by DOGE with the firings of Park Rangers and the killing off of the various departments that serve we the people? Does anyone outside of the media or the dumbest maga really think that the self-proclaimed "King of debt" honestly believe Trump wants to erase any part of the national debt which is currently at $36 TRILLION dollars. He does not pay his bills! Why should he pay ours? If you've ever sat across from your spouse at the kitchen table and asked, "Honey, how are we ever going to pay this debt?!" you know about capitalism and bankruptcy. They go hand in hand. You know this, Donnie Johnnie knows this. All the rich people know this. It's business. You take it personal, but it's business.
What happens in a recession? People with money buy things. People without money sell. When they were selling Trump as a successful businessman in 2015 (he had the TV show to prove it) I joked that he would, like a businessman, sell-off underperforming states and layoff citizens. That's not a joke now. There is talk of Russian oligarchs coming to the US and buying companies in dire straits, for pennies on the dollar. That is pennies on the dollar to the company, big fat billions to Trump. And not just Russians, but our billionaires who backed Trump and/or bought their way into his cabinet. Anybody with money and fealty to Trump will profit from this. They will profit BIGLY.

What happens to us. Historically, bread lines, soup kitchens and gathering the family up on the rickety old Ford F150 because there was talk that there was field work in California. The Grapes of Wrath, but in full, living color. As much as I know about it, the fall of the USA will cause a worldwide depression. How could it not? The media is talking recession like the housing bust out of 2008, but why would Trump settle for that when he can go all in? He's 78 years old. It's now or never for that ignorant asshole. Do you think he cares about being the capo di tuti capi of a failed state like America? No. He's getting his now, with little regard for the future. We the people, are on our own. We should not have helped that man and let him take advantage of our kindness. Who knew? Royko surely did. He tried to tell us, way back then when Trump was but a mention on the New York society pages and probably unknown to Royko, who knew people who knew people, and how awful they could be.
