WE Did It! Let's Keep Doing It
I'm still giddy. Even after a crazy, frustrating day of trying to get my new laptop to 'cast' onto a TV like my other one does, I'm still thrilled at the people's victories last night. Yeah sure, it was the democrats, but democrats are the people and I believe we proved that last night. We the people do really care about government doing right, and we made that quite clear from Texas to Michigan, and Kansas to South Carolina. Everywhere but Florida really, but that's Florida.
I'm also excited about what didn't happen yesterday. There was not a single black swan event! To my knowledge there weren't even any ICE or National Guard troops at polling places anywhere. Been reading about that for months. The media told us Trump might try all sorts of fuckery to keep from losing congress. They told us the best Dems might do is maybe take the house. Maybe. Surely though, the Senate was a pipe dream. That wasn't going to happen. Not on their watch! That sure seemed like the tone.
Well, of course it did. I don't think they're happy about that. Trump sells papers- even though nobody buys papers anymore. You know they wanted this asshole the moment he came down that escalator. They loved him as much as he now loves John Husted's ass or Arnold Palmer's penis. The media is really gay for him and, yes, Jerry Seinfeld, there is something wrong with that. They immediately knew this guy wanted attention and they were just the people to give it to him. Perhaps they figured they better make hay while the sun shined because he was doomed to be a one-term president as he was clearly overmatched by the job. He really should have been one and done and treated like comic relief. But hanging on this clown's every word and treating him as a serious populist and a man of the people was just too much. He has dominated news every damn day for the last ten years, just by opening his mouth or having a staffer take dictation on an iPhone. President's don't do that. Never did before and hopefully never will again. They shouldn't opine on everything under the sun and they shouldn't be expected to. For God's sake- why was this guy still on the campaign trail while in office and why was the media covering him doing that? If Obama had done that they would have mocked and ridiculed him harder than the tan suit or Grey Poupon. I realize everyone expected more from a classy, serious man like Obama than they did a vulgar schlub like Trump, but the difference in how these two were treated by most all media was obscene. If the media narrative is, yeah. he can do that because he's "bold, tough and unpredictable", it's not hard for the masses to feel weak and impotent as a result. All of us were worn to the bone wondering how he kept getting away with everything that he said and did, and thinking he was unstoppable. Like he had the Supreme Court in his pocket like Don Corleone had with judges in The Godfather. He didn't always, but it sure seemed like it when they granted presidential immunity. We knew it was for him even though it was for all presidents because we knew he would be the only one to abuse it. And it happened on Biden's watch. That made it seem somewhat legit, but it sure seemed like they had only him in mind.
After Tuesday's trouncing, I have to wonder if there was any serious cheating in 2016 or 2024. Why didn't he cheat like hell on November 3rd when clearly he was courting disaster losing congress. He said he would. Well, he says a lot of shit. He loved to say how "good Elon was with the voting machines" to intimate that he stole 2024. Saying this allowed him to go on to say for the billionth time that 2020 had been 'stollen' from him so turnabout was fairplay. So, nanna nana boo boo, stick your head in doo doo. I think his win in 2016 was an aberration and that was born out by his loss in 2020. He sucked. He lost. I can only explain his win in '24 as the result of changing democratic candidates in midstream, with a good dose of racism and misogyny thrown in. because 'Merica. How could Kamala Harris prepare her campaign in such a short time? She, BTW, would have been a fine president. I mean- look what we have now. This disaster looking for some place to abuse people got the job. Don't fucking tell me she couldn't do it 100% better than him. We sure wouldn't be in Iran now would we? He just golfs and holds rallies and he makes it look easy because he doesn't really do anything but grift for himself. You'd really think the media would frown on that.
I sure don't want to sound like Trump with his daily {{{FAKE NEWS}}}garbage. The news isn't fake, just the president. The news is {{{DISINGENUOUS}}}. That's not better. They did everything they could to make him a king because they thought it would be great fun to report on a king. They decided to give him the Hollywood treatment. He's the personification of the adage of all publicity being good publicity and politics being Hollywood for ugly people. Trump wallows in that. The pig loves shit. Guess who else does?
We'll see how things go in these last two years of his term. We'll see how they treat him as THE lamest duck in the history of lame ducks. If the media will allow us to, the country desperately wants to return to what used to pass for normal politics in the US. Yep, we'll see. They still got newspapers to sell, ya know.
