Everybody Wants to Rue the World
It's one thing to want to control the whole world, but quite another to want to destroy it. Both aspirations are aberrant in desire, but the latter is easier, especially now with nuclear weapons. Control-ruling is just stupid. Who, even in their *right* mind wants that responsibility? This why it's always crazy people who want to rule the world. You can read a history book to find out about that, or the comments section of any internet thread. A lot of crazy people at least think about it! I must also note that no good-looking people have ever made an unreasonably serious attempt at serious world dominance. History book reading again, but it is always ugly, stupid-looking people. Handsome people have better things to do. For example, I'm writing this.
For a long time I have been wondering why anyone would take a pretty much okay country like the USA and set their sights on destroying it. It's extra baffling that the current crop of ruiners are (again) the richest amongst us. You are in a country that made you filthy rich beyond your wildest dreams, and you want to ruin that! Crazy. You probably actually like the TV and movies we produce and the vast swaths of neat and tidy suburbs stretching out from every city in the land, but you despise the people who make the hustle bustle that, frankly, probably helped make you rich and displays what people generally agree makes the country great. It's just dumb to think that eliminating most all of those people will allow you to have it all and sustain that, while also making you richer. We know it's all about having more money because that's obviously what makes rich people tick. It's like what they say about alcoholics: one drink is too many and a thousand aren't enough. Plus, there is the mortality thing built into the human existence. Nobody gets out of here alive.
Perhaps Ai is working on that, or already has? Maybe these guys have learned the secret to immortality? They conquered immorality on their own without Ai and want to keep that going for ever and ever, amen, without sacrificing their earthly form. You look at a guy like Trump. He's 80 years old and well into looking like Robert The Bruce's dad in Braveheart, and a Navy doctor deemed him in such good shape that he would live to be 200! Might Ai make that longer? I don't think so, but what the Hell do I know? I can't figure why if Ai is going to kill us all, they just don't stop it right now. Why wait for the last minute when a couple of 14 year olds might defeat it by playing it in tic-tac-toe?
Well, I'm a democrat. We've got that "don't move- improve!" thing going on where we don't give up on the "we the people" thing like the republicans have been doing since they blew their wad on ending slavery 150 or so years ago. We've got our problems too like UpChuck Schumer and AIPAC Jefferies demanding to be our new leaders, when clearly they should not be. We can probably handle that though. Trump endorsing Schumer should be enough. We'll see. It's interesting that none of us ever espouse taking over the world- but in a good way- I guess because we know how dumb that is, so, no.
Now, I was going to get into why these assholes might desire to destroy the world even with them in it, but that would entail me having to pretend to believe a fucknut like Elon Musk is actually capable of flying these jagoffs into space to colonize Mars. I'm not going to go there, in prose or in reality. Can't afford it. Plus, I'm retired and I don't want to go anywhere they might be.
Maybe they're bored. They have everything, so now there's no fun in life. Watching people suffer must be highly entertaining.
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely a factor!
