What the Hell do Words Mean Anyways?

 Like you (maybe) I get frustrated by stupid people. There have always been people who were purposefully stupid, but it wasn't until the republican party was created, prior to the civil war, that we knew what to call them. Now, mind you, they gave us Abraham Lincoln and the end of slavery in the US and that was definitely a good thing to do, but they kind of peaked with that and have been nothing but trouble since. You can look that up. 

One of the things they do that irks me is their intentional misunderstanding of the system of government known as socialism. They insist that it is the same thing as communism. They really don't even actually question why there are two very different words when it is so obvious to them that North Korea and Sweden have the exact same systems of government. They are both communist because that's what socialism is; just another word for communism. They have a tendency to oversimplify things, to a fault. 

Democratic socialists have recently made great strides in New York City and now in Colorado. To hear them tell it in congress and their media outlets though, "communists" made those strides and they aren't great at all, because they are communists and communists' suck. It's true that communism sucks but making a difference without a distinction is never fair to anyone. For example, it is unfair to deem all republican Christians as pedophiles just because Trump and his cabinet are full of them and religious republicans seem to get arrested daily for their raping of children. Yes, it may seem that way, but you must ask; "Is it?"

It just frosts me when people are deliberately obtuse because their job requires them to be. That has long been the way of the world, but that does not make it right. I'm sure that Speaker Mike Johnson (reportedly a constitutional scholar) probably does know that socialism and communism are two separate entities, but his gig requires him to disavow that. Now, he may well be an idiot, but I suspect that he's just playing one on TV because his job requires it. You get nowhere in republican politics if you stop and explain things factually and honestly. Like, Mike can't say: "Oh, no, no, no- they are NOT communists- they are democratic socialists, which is also dangerous to us as a party because they think government should work for ALL people, not just billionaires." If Mike were to acknowledge that, even flabby old Trump would kick his little gremlin ass. Nobody wants their ass kicked, so they go along with the status quo that they have subscribed to, no matter how stupid it forces them to be. 

I noted the other day that this entire Trump regime is like a Facebook post. It's debatable whether Trump is wagging conservative Facebook tails, or if they are wagging his. He might get his ideas from them. They do seem interchangeable. Maybe "Joey Bunchanumbers" is as smart as Trump?  

Thing is that the democratic party seems as miffed with these democratic socialist victories as the republicans are. That's weird! Maybe they are afraid of success? Maybe they believe (like republicans) that communism and socialism are the same thing? Democrats can be stupid too, ya know. I suspect that they fear republicans won't go for socialism. DUH! They don't want to upset the apple cart. 

If the premise of your party is: Of the people, by the people, for the people, then why do you care what the disloyal opposition thinks? Fuck 'em. If a democrat politician can't see that republicans are rushing the country headlong into fascism, then you are dumber than Chuck Schumer. They are long since done with negotiation and compromise. And just because they don't call it 'fascism' doesn't mean it isn't. Their track record for misconstruing words is all out in the open. The 'strict constitutionalists' are BIGLY mad that their president can't change the Constitution with an Executive Order! Jesus Christ- the words of the profits are written on the subway walls! And, yes, I meant profits. This is a complete and final cash grab of everything left on the table- Social Security, Medicare, science research, feeding the poor, reflecting pools- fucking everything! They want it all! Every last nickel. 

I'm just a humble, retired bottomspanker and this is crystal clear to me. Why can't everybody see it? It is all out there- pretty much in the open, in a largely legal way. The bought and paid for USSC Supreme Team 6 is still sometimes ruling against Trump. They cut it disturbingly close on the 14th Amendment, but how long can that dog n' pony show last? Everybody knows that with Trump's lowest ever polling and a general malaise towards republicans, that the GOP will get trounced in the midterms. They lose and he and they are screwed. Impeachment and imprisonment will surely follow. Just ask yourself if you would leave that once in a lifetime grab at the gold ring to a fair vote in November? Be honest now...
