The Collector

Several weeks ago, newly elected NYC mayor, Zohran Mamdani, met with Trump in the Oval Office. I guess it went well and Trump had nothing but nice things to say about him despite his being a socialist, communist, foreigner and all that. I guess people were surprised because Trump is the roughest, toughest, baddest hombre to ever stalk the earth. Why then, did it go so politely?

Well, because Trump's a pussy. He doesn't confront men face to face. You can get punched out for that, and that probably happened in the past and he learned from it. I'm not suggesting violent confrontation is ever a good thing, but when a guy is habitually only vitriolically confronting women, it kind of tells a story about how rough and tumble a guy is not.

I imagine the meeting with Mamdani was designed to have Trump win him over with his reputed charm. This has worked with a vast number of former Trump detractors from Cruz to Rubio and way beyond. Maybe he takes them aside and tells them something like: "Look, it's all an act! Don't take me personally! I'm just grifting and making tons of money. Stupid people and the media love this shit! Why not just join in with me and get your taste too? Now, sign this NDA saying we never had this conversation, and welcome aboard the Trump Money Train!"

I think it goes somewhat like that, but I seriously doubt he was so open with Mamdani. Just google though and you'll see that something worked on previous Trump detractors because there is video evidence of a whole slew of 180's performed by so many.

As thin-skinned as Trump is, I don't think he cares that someone might dislike him. I think he expects it. He likes to own people and winning over rivals is one very good way of doing that. It's one thing to win over the dumbest people in America (like Maga) but that's easy and he only had to be himself to do that. He doesn't respect those people. I doubt he respects the once-political rivals (like Ted Cruz) either, but guys like that can do a lot for him beyond buying hats and phones.

Now me, if I don't like someone, I tend to stick with that dislike in my head and heart, if not in my demeanor towards them. Jagoff bosses obviously do get a pass because, well, gotta get that check. With regular people, I don't ever want to get punched, but if that's what happens, we'll take it from there. I just can't be Polly Ana about it and try to make a friend of an enemy. I don't know if that's what Polly Ana did, but it sounded right about being wrong. The Trump quislings may or may not respect him. Doesn't matter. I just know that he doesn't respect them. They shouldn't respect themselves. He collects people to use as he sees fit. It's just one of his many narcissistic illnesses.
