Clickbait: Everything Old IS New Again

 There are all these little culture wars going on in the US of A- there always were- but it seems like there are more of them now and each one is clamoring to be THE stand to take. There is a 'bro culture' and more women subscribe to the 'choose the bear in the woods' trope than you would think (but would they really?). I like to think of these things as metaphors, but they probably aren't and are taken seriously by way too many people. Men and women do not seem to get along too well these days, but did they ever? Jebus Christ- I could tell you stories! In fact, I have! But I never thought that anything that happened to me was a trend, not even for me. I have made bad choices with women. They have made bad choices with me. Sometimes, whether they knew it at the time or not, not choosing the Ferrer was probably the right choice for both of us. I get that. I'm old now and that is the optimum time to 'get' things about one's life. Better late than never! It rarely happens when you are young. If it did, you wouldn't truly know it until much later. 

You have to deal with your past, own up to it, learn from it and all that yada yada. You really do. I think one of the major problems with Maga is the lack of critical thinking about themselves that makes them susceptible to the control of others. When you tell someone that they are great and elite even, but it is Mexicans, gays and those transgenders that are holding you back, it's on you if you are stupid enough to believe that. If you can't think your way out of that, it's no wonder you give love and money to a billionaire conman. Urine idiot! I kind of hate Maga for being so dumb. It's hard not to. They really put themselves out there with their ignorance and wear it as a cloak of invincibility. Truly amazing to think, for example, that Michelle Obama has a penis and to repeat that as 'fact'. Do they not know how babies are made? How can they hold that thought and then also go about stating that libs are dumb because they 'believe' men can get pregnant. It is all so mindboggling mind-numbing. 

It is similar, I believe, with the 'epidemic' of loneliness amongst today's boys and young men. While it's true there are lonely boys out there, it is also true there are lonely girls. They should meet up and see what happens. I know that's a tall order, but it beat's wallowing in the spoon-fed despair of some culture warrior with an agenda. And that's what it is. It's the bullshit of the internet and the media, so obsessed with spotting trends; and making them trend. In a non-election year, there's no point in going to a diner in Ohio to find out why simpleminded folks there need the salvation that only a (then) pretend billionaire real estate conman can bring. "Why are there lonely boys and young men? The answer will surprise you!" And "Why are women going into the woods to be eaten by bears?  Because men are AWFUL!" Clickbait, but people love to expound on that as if it should be taken seriously.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm doing it right now! I know it. But I'm certainly not doing it for clicks. I get about twenty per post on average and that is what it is. This blog is a part of me, but it's not my dick. If it was, I'd tell you I get 2000 views! Maybe 20,000...

But I digress. I try to be as honest as I can be with people I meet, but I'm guarded about so many things because I have long since learned that I should be. The trend of humanity over the last hundred thousand years or so has been to exploit people before they exploit you. No one wants to be told how they really feel or think about anything, but the internet has made that much easier than ever before and perhaps more palatable. People are being trained en masse to pigeonhole others and to stand by it. Political views are being treated as sacrosanct as religious views. "I believe; therefore, it are!" "Democrats are communists and traitors! They want to take over America and make everyone transgender! They must be stopped!"

Them's not fightin' words. Them's killin' words. 

Not trying to spot a trend here, but it's pretty easy to see this crazy regime relishing a few murders to set things off and give credence to their quest to totally dominate this country. Trumpublicans must know there is no way they win a fair election in November and that the midterms must be stopped. If they lose the house and senate, even Chuck Scumer couldn't fuck up an impeachment of Trump. (Well, I hope...) When that happens, it's all over for Trump. As he is the bitchtitular head of the party, good luck getting the unwashed maga to fall in line behind President Vance. Could he even avoid impeachment? There are nothing but filthy hands in this Confederacy of Assholes. 

You might know republicans have tried to take over before. "The Businessman's Plot" of 1933 called for a violent overthrow of President Roosevelt. It was to be led by retired USMC Major General, Smedley Butler, who would be installed as dictator. Know who busted that plot? Butler himself! They read him wrong. Butler, BTW, earned the Medal of Honor TWICE for his actions for the US, mostly in Central and South America. He later wrote the book, "War Is a Racket" as he realized he had been nothing more than a thug enforcer for the corporations. He was quite contrite about that. The businessmen plotters didn't notice. Yeah, they read him wrong. Nothing came of the plot in the way of prosecutions, at least, and certainly not in action. It's interesting to note that Prescott Bush, father of George HW, and grandfather of GW, was adjacent to the plot. Though not directly involved because he was involved as the plotter's liaison to Nazi Germany. They had hoped to team up with young Adolph Hitler and create more mischief in the world. How about that?! Republicans have never really been on our side. They peaked early with the abolition of slavery but have been nothing but trouble since. 

OH MY! I do digress! I never know where these things are going. Half the fun is getting there! The point is, don't follow leaders; watch the parking meters. A lot of these *trends* are meant to distract us from what is really going on. They are stirring the pot, for what ghoulish goulash end, you never know. I'm not sure they know either. The fucking bastards just can't be happy unless they are making others miserable.
