It's 1, 2, 3 Who Are We Fighting For?
Well, I don't know what happened in yesterday's post here to piss off the go-ogle people and I don't really care. Seems like one of those bad wife/girlfriend things where, she's mad and you have to guess why, because: "If you don't KNOW, I'm certainly not going to tell you!" That's never productive. Anyways, let's move on.
The past couple of days I have seen reports that some commanders in all branches of our military, are telling their troops that this current Iran war is Biblical. They believe that Trump has been anointed by Jesus to destroy the Middle East to facilitate the return of Jesus, as apparently laid out in the Bible. I'm confused because I had always heard that it was the destruction of ISRAEL that was supposed to make this happen. That always seemed a bit specific, but now they are talking the whole region where we have been fighting wars for a few decades now. The Bible itself has long been wide-open to interpretation, so I can see the confusion. It's a lot more fluid than you'd expect an old book to be.
I was at first skeptical that high-ranking officers might be taking it upon themselves to address their immediate troops with their own religious takes on current events. But with this whacky regime, you can expect pretty much anything. There is a good degree of religious freedom in the US Military, and there is an organization within that troops can complain to if they feel their religious rights have been infringed. All religions are involved in our military (save for Quakers and Amish probably) and, like the nation itself, there is no one religion. However, like the nation itself, it depends on who you talk to. Many republicans insist that "We are a Christian nation as the founders intended" even though the founders never intended that we would be. But they say it with matter-a-fact authority so that it sounds true. It's like when Trump says he won the 2020 election. Repeat a lie often enough in the hopes that people will believe it. So, I gather that some commanders are, indeed, telling their troops this nonsense. Men and women of all races, creeds and colors join the military, swear the same oath to the Constitution with the knowledge that they may be put in harm's way at some point. It is what they signed up for, until it isn't. You can't change horses in midstream and tell privates' Zabehehalla or Goldstein that suddenly they are fighting for Jesus.
But this regime, throws out ALL the rules and makes up their own, like nobody has ever seen before.
On the surface there is no good reason to be at war with Iran. Our government has given a whole bunch of reasons, but none are good. They were negotiating up to the last minute and, according to the Iranians, the negotiations were going well. Until they weren't when the bombs started hitting, that is. Seems they got played a little by our people, kind of strung along. Nation's leaders have always put up pretenses of righteousness, generally for history's sake, but definitely for contemporaneous optics. Our government had to make it look like it tried to stave off war, but the Iranians didn't cooperate. War should always be the last resort, but when war is your business, you have to get that business up and running. A president, like a CEO, has a responsibility to his investors.
There is NO responsibility to the citizens though. The people of Iran and America are not fighting each other. If we were to hangout, we'd probably like each other. I worked with an Iranian bartender for several years. I liked him. We got on well. A cherished cousin is married to an Iranian man and though I've only met him once (they live in California) I enjoyed meeting him at a reunion. We had a few beers. He's a Cubs fan! That goes a long way with me.
But who suffers most in a war? Civilians. I think it was around 180 Iranian schoolgirls that died in the initial attack on Iran. For years now we have been trained to believe that our military- the finest in the world- is so good at strategic targeting, that we can pinpoint targets with precision like nobody's ever seen before. Kinda leads me to believe this was done on purpose. Shock and awe. The drunken, weekend news host coming out and saying he won't be shackled by the rules of war confirms that. This is bad news for civilians everywhere, but it always was. That will never change.
So, what is this war all about? Regime change? Maybe a little bit. Oil? Maybe a lot of that. Is Gaza all about urban renewal, beachfront property for the Trump and Netanyahu families? Probably, definitely. Filmmaker, Matthew Cooke, says that the United States is a brand. I heard that! We are a corporation above all the other corporations. No doubt about that. Modern warfare is a moneymaker for the winners who are not the people actually fighting and dying. Some of the Epstein emails have revealed that Jeffery was heavily involved in these world affairs for profit. The island was not just all about raping young girls for fun. That was really just incidental to their more nefarious plans of world domination for profit, lots of profit. These assholes are mere mortals; well aware they won't live for forever. They don't care. Not about you, or me or schoolgirls. It's just business to them.
You mean the adult content warning? Really weird. Well, I don't think it's the alleged distraction, as if people can't focus on more than one thing. I really don't know why but they do seem to be going after the oil.
ReplyDeleteRight. It is so much more than a distraction from the files, or an attempt to cancel elections "due to wartime" which sounds like his dumbass as he HAS dropped that hint. That won't fly and people won't go mute on the files no matter what. IDK beyond assholes gonna asshole and he just does what they tell him to do.
