Unreliable Narrators

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities".

The entire country can look at the same footage (from all angles) of Renee Nichole Good being killed and see completely different things. Some see facts. Others see the alternative facts of the narrative their political leaders tell them to see. There is clear right and wrong about that tragic incident, but even in the media- now more than ever- both sides of every story must be reported as equal. It all sounds like that AI shit to me as this particular story is reported in the black and white of either/or rather than the full, living color of truth. You can't 'both sides' everything in life, because when you do, you both sides right and wrong and the script is irrevocably flipped. 

The thing that might frustrate me most in life today with maga, is that they absolutely don't mind being stupid. Most of us go through our younger lives in fear of being perceived as stupid. Kids won't raise their hand in class or fear the teacher will call on them, regardless of whether they did the homework or not, because maybe they didn't understand it as the other, probably smarter kids did. They don't want to stand out from the crowd and been seen as dumb or slow. Some adults too, but fewer and fewer these days as alternative facts have come on scene. 

On the internet- particularly Facebook- where people tend to post with their real names, our neighbors don't mind repeating that in 2024 Haitians in Columbus, Ohio were "eating the cats and eating the dogs" or that liberal doctors deliver babies and then pick up a hammer and ask the mother if she wants to keep the baby or not. People regularly repeat that though, often embellishing it with anecdotes about how that is exactly what happened to their neighbor's cousin. Now, likely some of these people are stupid with a purpose like a Kelly Ann Conway and a few thousand other maga pundits (it's a living) but if you know people, you know a lot of idiots. A nation of 330+ million people allows for many millions of idiots. 

The maga masters are not telling these people that they are idiots and that it's OK to be stupid, but they could! Republican politics are narcissism for the world stage, and like regular narcissists, they can readily identify people they can use to further their own agenda. It is that fucking simple. Instead, they tell them that they are patriots, fighting on the frontlines for good, against evil. Again, that makes Trump such a perfect leader for the gullible and easily led, because he is gullible and easily led. He is one of them. It is not a good way to be the way I see it, but some may disagree...
