Regime Change You Can Believe In

Let us pretend for a moment that Trump actually is as wonderful as he thinks he is, Maga knows he is, and the media so desperately wants to believe he is. That is a lot to pretend for us reasonably normal folk but relax; we will soon go back to the normalcy of independent thought. This is just a side trip into the delusions of others. It'll be just a minute. 

The guy is damn near 80 years old and in steadily declining physical and mental health. Though not bedridden, he could go at any time. Whatever they are injecting into him to make him somewhat publicly presentable and slightly lucid given his role as president, can't be good for what is left of his mind or body. It just can't be. In their desperation to make him presentable and to get as much out of him as they can, while they can, they may well be hastening his demise. That is the good news. The bad news is, what happens when his body and mind give out and death becomes him? Is our suffering over? Or has it just begun to begin again? What will a post-Trump world look like? 

Well, no one knows, that's why we are pretending. Trump is just the bitchtitular head of the reinvented republican party. If he didn't already exist it would be necessary for the GOP to invent him. They haven't had a good leader since Dwight Eisenhower in the 1950's and let's face it: Ike was not a republican in the republican sense of the word. Neither was Abraham Lincoln, their other great leader. Both parties wanted Ike to front for them as president, and as little as I know about it, it could have gone either way. He was Ike. He won WWII. That took some doing. He was a good choice. But republican? I don't know about that. Putting millionaires and corporations in the 90% tax bracket doesn't seem very republican to me. 

Trump, on the other hand, very much is a republican. He's greedy and selfish. People say he does all this for his rich friends, but come on, he has no friends. Only himself. No one loves Trump more than Trump. Everything he does is for Trump. When he has names redacted from The Epstein Files, it is not to protect *innocent* wealthy white pedophile friends of his, it is only to protect Trump from them. He is an idiot, but he's not stupid. The thing is though; his megalomania is just what this republican party has been needing since Ronald Reagan. This coup of theirs has been going on at least since Reagan. Their intent to make America a white, Christian nation that they fully control surely hatched before Reagan came on scene, but in my mind's eye, that's where it really got moving. 1980 was the beginning of the end for America. 

In our pretending today, we will wonder where America goes from here once Trump has wolfed down his last Big Mac. Can the Trump brand continue? 

I don't think so, but they are surely going to try. They are thisclose to realizing their dream and they won't give up just because he is gone. Here's the kicker though; the reality of Trump is the key to his and their success. Trump can sell austerity to 77 million Maga dumbfucks, but no one else can. Why? Because he's Trump! No one is better at being Trump than Trump. I don't think that most of his devoted cult will accept Trump Lite. There is no hair apparent (<----see what I did there? It was on purpose!) waiting in the wings, having studied the role, to take over the show. Oh, JD Vance is there and all that shit, but nobody wants him except Peter Theil and other tech bros who are the real demented brains behind all this. They will try- they have no choice- but only Trump could sell austerity to 77 million maga. Anyone else would get a collective, "What the fuck..." from them and the media. Trump gets away with most all he does because he's Trump. Sure, the media is complicit, but not as much as we give them credit and blame for. Ask yourself what you really think they should do about Trump. Do you really think they will save us? Most of the world knows he's a fucking idiot and a rapist pedophile. It's all documented. Nobody is doing anything about him despite all the Mueller and Jack Smith evidence and millions of collective eyes seeing it for themselves. Why? Because he's Trump. As stupid as that sounds, it is true. He's a perfect storm of arrogant assholery and bullshit. A once in a millennium American experience of fuckery. No one else could pull this off, because he's Trump!

When he ceases to be Trump- the living breathing Trump whose very existence disgusts us so- that is when the wheels come off. The product may exist, but the stable genius salesman will be gone, and no one will accept substitutes. I assume his handlers know this and have measures in place to make the show go on, but good fucking luck with that. It's not going to go well for them. These are the same assholes who tried to make Charlie Kirk the second coming and going of Jesus Christ. That did not work. Sans Trump, they'll have a very hard time selling hats or any *common sense* approach to the dismantling of America and democracy. They will have to impose their will on America at gunpoint. Even the dumbest Maga will reject that. 

I want the world to be rid of him as much as anyone else does. I'm just saying that it will get worse before it gets better whether he checks out today, tomorrow or Ronnie Jackson's estimate of 120 years from now. We are still better off without him, but the Maga republicans are not and that will be evident in due time. Such is the unknown nature of regime change as perpetrated by idiots. America wasn't broken until they decided to *fix* it. I won't pretend to know if this is the end of us, but you can sure see it from here.
