Oh Dear- Would You Look at the Time!

Is rooting for Trump to fail- knowing that America will fail along with him- is that really such a bad thing?

What we and the rest of the world hate about Trump is what the world has hated about the US for the better and worse part of 250 years. Mostly the worse parts. We built this country on slavery for fuck's sake! We all but wiped out the native people living here. Who does that? Well, other societies have, but they don't gloss over it as well as we do, and they don't continue on into the future with no shame about it. Not for long that is. Spain and England once ruled the world, but the world eventually humbled them, gave them their comeuppance, and they learned not to be so goddamn greedy. They survived and today are two pretty damn nice countries. Germany started two world wars in the last century because they were awful people with Trump-like *qualities*, but now they are pretty settled down and not only very contrite about their past but concerned for our present and future. This is because they know where they went wrong. They are the voice of experience because they have been there and done that and they know better than to do it again.

See, Maga may seem like it's all about Trump, but that's on paper. As I have said many times over the last ten years, Trump is a patsy and a fall guy. He is being used by people far smarter and wealthier than him, for their own ends, not his. We all know him to be a dumb, fucking idiot. He's extremely malleable because he has a greedy, weak and selfish, addled mind. We know that. Other billionaires and think tankers know that. He was a perfect storm of exploitation for them. The republicans could not do what they are doing now with him, with any Bush or Reagan. We know this because they tried, in a start-up kind of way. They weren't fully invested in US and then-world domination at the time, and it showed. Somewhat to our credit, we the people weren't quite ready either. We're still not ready, but they are ready enough for us. It's now or never for them.

Essentially, the powers that be behind Trump want to conquer the world. In the history of the world, that's old news. But first, they have to eliminate the US, because like us or not, we've attained a reputation as the tough guy on the block, the good one whom the bullies fear. He's the one who sets them straight. In theory, you corral him and no one can stop you. That's theory though. A lot of theories are dumb. Look at RFK Jr. Was he ever smart? No. Just like they trot him out with his Kennedy name as his only claim to fame. They think it gives them bonafides and star power. It doesn't. He doesn't. But the base is gullible and stupid. It works on them. The guys in control don't like him, but there's that Kennedy name. They keep him around. Same with Dr. Oz and, to a lesser extent, Dr. Phil. Those are two examples of Oprah Winfrey's very poor judgement where men are concerned. Idiots and shills, but people know those names, and when you are rich and famous- even for being an idiot- people tend to respect that. That's the way America works. People get rewarded for being "controversial". What makes you controversial? Dumb opinions and a media willing to exploit you to fill column inches or a couple minutes on the *news*. The media has people crunching numbers on people's television exposure just like NASCAR does with car wrecks. I remember Soledad Obrien talking about this, how they evaluated her and guests down to the fucking second of an interview, to gauge their likeability and value.

This brings us back to Trump. If he was a likeable guy, he would be useless to them. They knew that a certain segment of the population is going to fall in love with his assholery. But every bit as important as that is, millions more are going to hate the motherfucker. And this being America, that controversy sells bigly! If Trump wasn't an asshole, it would be necessary to make him one. If in 2015 he was simply a 70-year-old, retired billionaire who (let's pretend) had actual foreign, domestic and economic policies, who would care? Even if they were viable policies, he'd be "too old" and, because he had never held any office, too inexperienced to be President of the United States. Way back then we liked experienced governors and senators as candidates. Wonder what changed?

Oh, yeah! Obama. Two very reasonable terms as president, but he did them while being black. Asshole-Americans never got over that. They never will. The wealthiest of the Asshole-Americans needed someone who could take back the country and make it great again! That's a tall order and a tough sell, especially when in 2016, things were pretty good in the old US of A. But when you have a racially distressed country like the US has always been, it's not hard to appeal to a nation's worser devils when you can capture the folks who were also pissed simply because a black man did so well at running the country. Twice. Then the democrats run a woman?? There are two things white men fear: black men and white women getting over on them. They couldn't stop the black guy (twice) but they were going all in on stopping the white woman. This is because the history of America is racism and misogyny. 2024 would make me look like a real good prognosticator when democrats would run the double threat to white *supremacy* that Kamala Harris was and is. We should have been rid of Trump in 2020 when he was resoundingly beaten by Joe Biden, but when it was revealed that he was old and he lost George Clooney and the media, the extremely lovely and talented Kamala Harris was thrust into the campaign with like 100 days to defeat Trump. History- if we are to have history in the future- will realize that that was a tall order even for her. She had won every contest she ever competed in. How could she lose to a treasonous, 34x convicted felon, child rapist with advancing dementia?

Well, because this is America. Our greatness has been greatly exaggerated for two and a half centuries. For too long we have believed our own brochures. It was easy to wave the flag and boast of our greatness because it was easy to gloss over the things like slavery and genocide. That's why it was easy to elect Trump. Twice?? He, like America, is extremely flawed and easy to gloss over even though, unlike America, he has absofuckinglutely NO good qualities whatsoever. That's why he was the perfect choice to end the charade of America's greatness and get down to the brass tacks of its reality. Being actually great is a lot of fucking hard work! Trump has shown the world that all you have to do is keep telling everyone how great you are and they better believe it- or else. Right now, it is lawsuits and cash shakedowns, but with ICE running the streets kidnapping darker citizens and visitors, we know it will soon be concentration camps and murder squads. We've seen this movie before. We know how it ends.

Thus, I have no shame in wanting Trump- and America- to fail. We brought this upon ourselves. We let it happen, thinking it couldn't happen here. That's the American ego the world has come to despise so much. We believed the brochures. We wouldn't take that shit from any other country but us. I guess it was inevitable.

Think of America as a once grand house. You see old photos of it, and you want to save it, but it's just too far gone. Not even good bones. It just can't be rehabbed. Before you can...build back better... you have to tear it down. New foundation and framing- new everything. As much as I love old Victorians/Queen Annes, there are reasons you don't build them like that anymore.

Trump and his handlers are going to fuck this up. That's the good news. They are idiot, Asshole-Americans and they will fail. The better news is this is a good thing, because without their fuckery, we would never have gotten around to making this country great at all. We've been left to our own devices for 250 years now, and we never got around to actually fixing the racism, misogyny and all the other shit that brought the house down. The bad news is that the majority of us are pretty decent people who simply want to live our short existences here on earth as best we can. The worser news is that the worst among us will never, ever give up trying to fuck it up for everyone else. <sigh> Fuck 'em. Let's do this.
