To Have and to Have Not

Voltaire (allegedly) said that "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities". Whether he did or not (the quote doesn't appear in any of his writings) I am saying it now and you can quote me on that. Is there anything more absurd in our lifetimes than Trump and Maga? Anything more absurd than the notion that Trump was sent by God or that there is a "War on Christmas" or that Haitians were eating the cats and dogs in Ohio? The answer, of course, is "no". And I know absurdity. Why, yes, I've been married. 

We are not yet at the atrocities portion of this regime's game plan, but you can definitely see it from here. You only need look back at Hitler's rise in Germany in the 1930's. It didn't start with death camps and the Holocaust. He had to work up to that. He first had to set it in German minds that his goal was to make Germany Great again. With that goal in mind, everything else he did would seemingly make sense if you didn't think too much about it. Every new law would be to facilitate that end, so it would be OK with your average German of the day even if they thought it was kind of mean or unnecessary. Everyone must have agreed that Germany needed to be great again, so they were onboard. 

There is a presumption that anybody who is in charge must know what they are doing. This is all well and good when you are five and the powers that be are your parents, but as you get on in life you are supposed to see for yourself that all too often our leaders and bosses are idiots. (Your parents are a different story though. You realize this once you have kids of your own and see that they were doing the best they could while being pretty damn clueless. Stories for another day.) Bosses and leaders are often just big talkers who bullshitted their way into power, or they were nepo babies born into it. In a democracy, they get voted in. They just need to fool enough people, and they are off to the races. Trump did that- twice! Fucking amazing.

The goal of every president is to serve two terms. The second one is when you really get things done, good or bad. Trump was so inept in his first term that he was voted out. Thwarted, he made that ridiculous coup attempt on January 6 with the rioters at the capitol and the fake electors. It was an embarrassingly futile attempt. How the fuck could that work in the US of A? It was not the way we do things. But he did it, first having prepped his voters that the only way he could lose was if democrats cheated. He put that in their minds and- VIOLA! - a self-fulfilling prophecy was born. Because he lost, it absolutely had to have been because he had been cheated. See how that works? His followers bought it. They buy everything Trump, from hats to shoes, top to bottom. At the last official counting on November 5, 2024, there were @77 million idiots following Trump. There are fewer than that now. 

You see, this is because many of those idiots are catching on to Trump and his chaotic maga nonsense. They have noticed that Maga was nothing more than a ploy to get elected. As broad and vague as "make America great again" was, it's becoming clearer each day that he's doing nothing to facilitate that greatness for you, me or anyone but Trump and Trump-adjacent people. Whether it's the insane tariffs or the Gestapo tactics of ICE, many red-Americans are... waking up...to the notion that Trump does not have their best interests in mind, only his and those of other billionaires. No shit! I could have told them that ten years ago. In fact, I did. 

But I digress. The opinions of this ferrerman and others don't really concern Trump and his handlers because they never intended to allow those opinions in a voting booth again. Trump has even said that we would never have to bother voting again. Now, if that doesn't portend fascism, I don't know what does. Granted, this remains to be seen, but I highly doubt we'll have 'free and fair' elections in November of 2026 because the republican party would surely get trounced by democrats who would then control at least the house and be able to thwart Trump the old-fashioned American way of checks and balances. They can absolutely not let that happen. You know that. So do they. 

They also are well aware that their frontman is damn-near 80 years old and in extremely poor physical and mental health. He IS Maga and there is no one on deck who could step up to the plate and assume his crown. Certainly not JD Vance (if that's his real name...it's not!) and certainly not one of his kids. The line of succession doesn't remotely include them and both sides of the American aisle know them to be idiots. 

Thus, I think they have contingences covered in the event of their 'leaders' eventual demise whether by happenstance or necessity. It will be 'shock and awe' like no one has ever seen before. At least not in this country. His demise, natural or otherwise, will be blamed on democrats. Swift, decisive action will be taken by President Vance, and it will be bloody and insane. Even Maga that were awakening and slipping away might be disgusted that libs hounded him into death or were responsible for his assassination. This is because they'll be told to react this way by the media of Fox, Newsmax and the recently acquired CNN and CBS. When five corporations own 90% of all media and they also own the White House, this is how it goes. Other networks and media outlets will fall in place. It will go how they say it goes. 

Hopefully I'm wrong about the midterms not happening. I don't think I am. I've known enough evil and greedy people in life to know that it's never enough. It's never enough to just be the boss and reap those rewards. The worst of us always want more and will do absolutely anything to get it all. That's inhuman nature. No one really likes Maga or genuinely thinks anything they are doing now or in the near future is actually making America great. Even the dumbest Maga thought America was already great before Trump. They just got caught up in the ridiculous trappings of it all, never really considering how obscene it could get. Well, that's how cults get you. 

We know how bad things will get because we know how white people got in Nazi Germany. Black people know how this country has been to them for 400 years. Hispanics- wherever they be from- know their homeland's histories as well. We all need to stand together and fight as one people against those who seek to enslave us. I've heard that is what being an American is all about. It hasn't always been, but it is the way it must be now if we are to defeat these fucking bastards. I don't have a billion dollars- do you? See? It really is us against them.
