Two Weeks...

 It would seem to be unfathomable to consider that the American military would wage war on Americans, but of course, it has happened before. Slavery, secession and preserving the Union were the issues then in 1861. Let's face it; it was slavery, but there was a menu of reasons for men to get involved on either side.

Today however, all you have is a vindictive asshole of a president who has more grievances against Americans than Frank Costanza on Festivus. They make as much sense too.

What would it take for the US military- groups of men and still some women- used to taking orders from the president, to follow orders from him to really invade US cities? An order is an order, right? We hear a lot about how it is a soldier's duty to not obey illegal orders, but that's in the moment. Who really is a 19-year-old private to decide these things? We could also ask who a 70-year-old General is to question orders from the President of the United States. You fight wars to win and don't worry too much about Nuremburg trials if you lose. Just don't lose. It remains to be seen what they do. A lot of them don't like the woke either. Is a disdain for woke enough to get them to follow a mentally ill Commander in Chief that their own Joint Chief's of Staff (General Mark Milley) said was a fascist? You never know. These men get paid to wage war, not to question the rantings of an asshole POTUS. If it's the only war they've got, they might go for it. Or they'll lose their jobs and pensions.

Countries have been destroying themselves since the beginning of countries. Usually, the aim is to destroy other countries though. Gaza, right now, may seem like urban renewal for Bibi and Trump and investors, and it likely is, but it's also genocide. Sometimes people have nowhere to go. I don't know that Trump has urban renewal in mind for the great American cities like Chicago and Los Angeles, but I know he and his wealthy benefactors care nothing for the lives of the people who live there. When the bombs are raining down on you, they don't really care who you voted for. 

How much longer can we take solace, thinking that Trump's just a senile old man playing mob boss, running his mouth? He fucks everything up. Well, that's the thing. We do not know how desperate they'll get. Stick Project 2025 up their dumb asses. Smart guys don't come up with plans like that. Nation building in a nation that was already arguably the greatest nation in history??!! Who the fuck thinks that's a good idea? 


But I digress again. Trump's "two weeks" for every plan he has no intention of delivering on has been a running joke since 2016. We don't hear that much anymore. But we don't know what this country will look like in two weeks now. We don't get the luxury of complacency anymore. That was the old America, the work in progress America. These fuckers are done with progress. It's too woke, whatever the fuck that means.

Molehills On the Battlefield

An odd exchange with a follower earlier. To another poster I added to his complaint about the recent trend of side-by-side reaction videos They are dumb and pretty much unnecessary. My addition was that I didn't like the ones where someone is telling a joke, and on the other side of the screen is a clip of someone laughing outrageously. Why? And perhaps worse, the split screen is used to tell a story, and the other side is some inexplicable B-roll of some unrelated product being made. Again- why? Are these first world problems? Yes. But I wasn't crying or praying to Trump that these 'creators' be deported to a Sudanese prison. I was just kinda bitching. Is that wrong? To one follower, it was! Flipping the Script

 When it comes to TV and movies, I don't like to know how the sausage is made. But full disclosure, I find it hard to resist the inside info when it comes to "The Sopranos". As luck would have it, there are a bazillion YouTubes about all things Soprano.  It's kinda crazy to me that people that people spend so much time gossiping about a fictional show. "Why did this happen? Why that? How 'bout this theory?"  Shit like that. My first thought is always, ask the writer. It's their story. It's not ours to add anything to it. It's not "The Bible", after all.  Story arcs are different though. I've been seeing a lot of a particular arc in The Sopranos that always befuddled me.
