On This Episode of Hoarders

It's kind of fun watching people like Steve Bannon and many others turning on Trump. Kind of scary too. His own crazies are figuring out that he's full of shit about leading them to the insane heights they wanted to go. They are disappointed in him. He's not the maga brand they signed up for. the guy who would drain the swamp and destroy the deep state. He IS the swamp and the deep state now!

No shit. They couldn't see that coming. We did! It was in all the papers.

You don't take a perfectly OK country like America and go to all the trouble (and money) of tearing down every aspect of it and its government with a bi-polar, vague notion of a goal of making it "great again" without showing some immediate results once you are in for the second time.

Oh, there's been a buttload of immediacy in this second Trump term, a whole lot of first day stuff that seemed impressive. But if you can't fool the fools you fooled before anymore, who are you fooling but yourself?

Did it turn out that the small army of federal employees that actually turn the wrenches of government, day in, day out regardless of what party was in power was "the Deep State"? Because, if so, Trump wasn't even close. Getting rid of the people who know how to get things done- because it's their job to get things done- is very fucking stupid. Think of Jeff Bezos trying to save millions by eliminating employees. Those packages aren't going to deliver themselves. Even a walking circumcised penis like Bezos knows that. He's surely thought about it, but he's not that stupid.

Trump is though. We know that. What surprises me though (just a little) is that the billionaires behind him don't seem to know that. Those billi boys had a good grift going here. They acquired obscene wealth in a country that worships capitalism and people respected and admired them for it. Politicians made it easy for them. People loved them for it, even if they didn't know who they were, because the Steinbeck quote of socialism never really taking hold in America because every American sees themselves as a temporarily embarrassed millionaire is true. We respect success and money no matter how one gets it. The point for us is that you got it. We want to get it too!

Whereas you and I could be quite happy being a billionaire (so we think) actual billionaires cannot. Think of people who hoard newspapers. You might keep them around the house for a week until you finally get around to putting them into the recycling. But every once in a while, you'll hear a story of some crazy person who has newspapers stacked up to the ceiling in their home where they can only get through narrow paths, from one room to the next. Hoarders. I used to hear about these people, back when we had newspapers. It'd be much harder to have that obsession nowadays. It would take forever. Instead, we have people who do this with money, albeit not in their homes. They use banks, but the money is really stacked in their heads.

The problem with these money hoarders is that they can never have enough. This is why they invented crypto currency, whatever the fuck that is. They want all of it, even the pretend money. It's a sickness.

It's that sickness that got Trump in the White House, not once but twice. Forget this bullshit about draining the swamp or smashing the deep state, or any intentions of populism to make life better for the common man. All that is just the sizzle on the steak. America sells the sizzle because that is what Americans buy.

Trump is the sizzle on a Big Mac though. For the umpteenth time- he was THE only guy in world who could affect such a drastic change in America. Only he could corral the number of weirdos and idiots to get the billionaires where THEY needed to be.

I still sometimes wonder why they let him do the insane things he does, but I guess the bottom line is that They. Don't. Care. They'll be fine. Whatever tragedies befall America in general, or you and I in particular, they'll be fine. They'll be better than fine because they'll have it all. They are the sickest of hoarders and it is not vicariously amusing because they will end us all.
