Making It

 Trump has been in the news, courtrooms and on television for- 60 years(?) Let's say 50 years. At the age of 79, he's finally made it. No more pretending to be a billionaire (playing one on TV) he probably is one now or will be tomorrow or next week. Finally! And he did it the only way a fuckhead like him could do it: he became president of the United States. It sure wasn't going to be the steaks or the vodka. 

He might be THE embodiment of "fake it 'til you make it". 

But come on now, he's 79 years old. It took him long enough! Jeez. He's never been what you'd call a smart guy. A smart guy would have peaked quite a bit sooner in life when he could enjoy it more. I guess he is enjoying it if you base it on average white guys of 79 years who golf and ramble incoherently, but those guys have probably been retired 10-15 years after a lifetime of working. You could argue that they earned it. You'd lose that argument with me, but you can argue it if that's all you got. Being 79 years old and still a dick is just not a good way to be. 

It's just pathetic to me that it took this clown sooooo long to finally succeed- and when he succeeded- he fucking sucked at it.  He sucks at success! The fuckin guy is POTUS- for the second time- and he still has no clue how to president. His people still excuse him as not being a politician. Well, I'm not a heart surgeon and I get it that you don't want me operating on you. But if I was a heart surgeon, I'd be fucking pretty good at it. And I would not be doing it at 79 while rambling about showers and calling people names. 

We know all this shit. The guy is old, demented and a menace to entire world, due to his current job title. But stupid people love him, and Elon is good with the voting machines, so here we are. That's America, at least America the way it used to be last year. The ironic thing is, Trump's going to put a stop to that nonsense that got him elected. The funny thing is, at any given moment he is probably thisclose to actually saying something like: "We're taking steps to make sure no one like me ever gets elected president again. Appointed- yes- but no more ELECTING people like me". 

As the cheese slides further off his cracker each day, he might make such confessions. It'll be interesting to see how they handle that in the White House. They've had lots of practice already ("He was joking! You stupid people can't see that??!! You ALL are going on report!!") And the media will go along with whatever the WH says because they don't want to settle out of court for millions every goddamned week. 

Obama was the first president in my lifetime that was younger than me. We really should have kept that trend going. Old duffers belong on the golf course, lying about their game, not anywhere near world power. And the presidency should never be an entry-level position to acquire wealth. The old bastard is still selling hats!

Molehills On the Battlefield

An odd exchange with a follower earlier. To another poster I added to his complaint about the recent trend of side-by-side reaction videos They are dumb and pretty much unnecessary. My addition was that I didn't like the ones where someone is telling a joke, and on the other side of the screen is a clip of someone laughing outrageously. Why? And perhaps worse, the split screen is used to tell a story, and the other side is some inexplicable B-roll of some unrelated product being made. Again- why? Are these first world problems? Yes. But I wasn't crying or praying to Trump that these 'creators' be deported to a Sudanese prison. I was just kinda bitching. Is that wrong? To one follower, it was! Flipping the Script

 When it comes to TV and movies, I don't like to know how the sausage is made. But full disclosure, I find it hard to resist the inside info when it comes to "The Sopranos". As luck would have it, there are a bazillion YouTubes about all things Soprano.  It's kinda crazy to me that people that people spend so much time gossiping about a fictional show. "Why did this happen? Why that? How 'bout this theory?"  Shit like that. My first thought is always, ask the writer. It's their story. It's not ours to add anything to it. It's not "The Bible", after all.  Story arcs are different though. I've been seeing a lot of a particular arc in The Sopranos that always befuddled me.
