Gangster Love

 Well, Michael Franzese continues to piss me off. No, it wasn't his video about Tony Accardo. That was pretty well done. And it wasn't really too much about his video critiquing the new Robert DeNiro film, "Alto Knights". I fully intended to wait to see that when it would come out on YouTube TV or whatever, because it didn't look good. DeNiro plays both main characters. What is this- the fvcking "Parent Trap"??!! Get outa here with that. The guys weren't twins, They were dead, real life NYC gangsters, Frank Costello and Vito Genovese. Separate people. When Tom Hardy played the Kray brothers- who were twins- that was fine. Though twins don't always look alike, they should, and if they do and are- but there's no sets of twins available to play British gangsters- then let Tom Hardy be Tom Hardy and be both of them. Pretty easy casting, if you ask me. You know, a buddy of mine bragged about bedding twins. Impressed, but curious, I asked how he told them apart. "Easy", Tommy said, "her brother had a mustache". 

Nowadays, Franzese always finds time to open his latest videos by giving "praise, thanks and glory to our God". I think he means the Biblical God, but I can't be positive. He might mean Trump. The way he goes around on his appearances praising Trump gnashing his teeth against people (like DeNiro) who speak against Trump, you have to wonder. See, Franzese has this born-again Christian thing going on that he used to get out of the mafia. Most guys get killed if they try to leave, but I guess he found a loophole. (Makes one wonder if a Cardinal could get out of the Catholic church by finding God. I'm gonna think about that and get back to you.)

For a guy that now gives glory to God and/or Trump, he sure talks up what he calls, "the life" some 25 years removed from it. I think he misses it. He should be ashamed of his criminal past, but it's a legitimate business he's in now, making videos and selling wine. There are many who question his claim of having been a captain in the Gambino crime family. I don't truly know if he was or wasn't. There are no Linkedin pages for the mafia to check these things. When I first saw him on YouTube and he said he had been a Captain, I was like, "OK". But then other famous gangsters were saying, "Uh uh....". His dad (Sonny) was a well known gangster. A lot of nepotism in the mob. Family- ya know. But does that mean you get made and get to be a capo? Maybe. It's got to help. So, I don't know. Was he, wasn't he? Once a guy is made, it's hard to leave. If you're collecting or using your muscle, you can leave anytime. But, if you're a made guy, you're supposed to be in it to the end- your end. It's like Scientology. You stop making movies, you're in big trouble. 

Here's my beef. How far removed from crime are you really if you leave mafia love for Trump love? How do you become a Christian and then worship Trump? Trump has 34 felonies to his credit, and is an adjudicated rapist. He paid millions to young girls and boys to silence them. He's ignoring the rule of law that this country was founded on, and running it like a mobster. That must be familiar to Franzese. It must be comfortable.

How dare I question his Christianity when I think I just proved it?

Flipping the Script

 When it comes to TV and movies, I don't like to know how the sausage is made. But full disclosure, I find it hard to resist the inside info when it comes to "The Sopranos". As luck would have it, there are a bazillion YouTubes about all things Soprano.  It's kinda crazy to me that people that people spend so much time gossiping about a fictional show. "Why did this happen? Why that? How 'bout this theory?"  Shit like that. My first thought is always, ask the writer. It's their story. It's not ours to add anything to it. It's not "The Bible", after all.  Story arcs are different though. I've been seeing a lot of a particular arc in The Sopranos that always befuddled me. Marisa Tomei Likes Me

Marisa Tomei- I always thought I had a chance with her... That's a line from a "Seinfeld" episode where George Costanza said that about Marisa Tomei, and then as the script would have it, he met Marisa Tomei and they hit it off. Every mention of Marisa Tomei on the internet- if I see it- I will post it. Seinfeld fans get it.  So, I did that last week on a Facebook post and quickly got a like from Marisa Tomei. This caused me click on the profile, curious as to whether the actress was on FB or if it were a fan page.  I've gotten likes from actors before. Some I think were legit because they were just likes. Some of the cast of the "Sopranos" liked a post I made about the controversial ending of the series, where it suddenly went black- and that was it. Series over.
