White men can jump again!

 One of the thousands of storylines in the old, HBO series, "OZ" was of a white Corrections Officer who had played college ball, but I think not finished his college career. So, he was kind of left wondering, "What if..." Seems to be something thousands of college ballplayers go through this every year. Where do you go from college, if you can't make the pros, in any sport?

He asked a co-worker who he thought was the worst player in the NBA. The guy replied, "Probably some white guy." 

"True", he said, "but do you realize how tremendously skilled a guy has to be just to be the 'worst' player in the league?"

You look at the bench in any game and you'll see white- and black- players who don't get much playing time. They are not filler or necessarily a sort of reverse affirmative action choice to colorize the team. They might be though. Who knows what lurks in the hearts of team owners and coaches? I'm far more into baseball than the other sports, and I know that a guy who is mocked for barely hitting his weight, surely was first pick throughout his life on the field. He was a stud- until he got to the major leagues. He's still better than you ever dreamed of being. He made it that far, because he was good. You earn the position of being the worst. 

There is nothing wrong with DEI. Check that. The thing that is wrong with DEI is that it's 2025 and we still need it. In an ideal world, one progresses because of talent. But sometimes the powers that be having to step in and make certain that happens, because you get people, also in power, who want to exclude others because of their race, gender, sexuality- any 'reason' they might see as 'wrong'. Trump probably can't even spell DEI. but he hates it. He has been told that qualified white men are being passed over because libs have decided that a percentage of every position of employment be filled by a percentage of black, brown, female persons who do not need to be qualified. Like they're pulled off the street and told; "Luthor, you're a airline pilot now. You're welcome!"

Of course, that doesn't happen but try and tell that to maga or an idiot like Trump. His cabinet is actually fairly diverse as it looks right now. There's a woman head of Homeland Security. Kash App Patel is Indian (I think) and probably will be FBI Director. That seems diverse, doesn't it?

But not a one of these assholes is qualified for their positions. They were chosen solely for their loyalty to Trump. This isn't debatable. Each of these people is a sycophant. 

It's quite weird to be leveling the playing field for white males in this century, but that's the way it was in all the previous centuries in America so, everything old is new again. I mean, they tried to portray Kamala Harris as the DEI candidate, while Trump was the scrappy white hero, pulling himself up by his own bootstraps. How ridiculous is that? How stupid do you have to be to look at Trump and see him as qualified to be anything?

We're back to Square One, I guess. Once again trying to shove square pegs into round holes. We know how this ends.
