Tony Soprano~ Made President

People weren't too surprised when America elected Tony Soprano as president. After all, a previous president had been a television game show host. Around the world they were saying, "Well, that's America..."

However, folks here and abroad were confused given the fact that Tony Soprano was a fictitious character. To further complicate things, the great James Gandolfini who had portrayed Tony on the HBO series was long since dead. Tony Soprano had a lot of fans though, and a lot of big money behind him and with that, if you get the media behind you as well, you are going to be president. The media had no problem overlooking Mr. Soprano's lack of existence in real life. They pointed out that, although Mr. Soprano had been believed to have committed many crimes, the Feds had failed to bring charges, much less convictions. And what would convictions matter anyway with pardon power and full presidential immunity?  

The Soprano campaign was different even by America's trumpian standards. His campaign was all reruns of the show. They were effective though, portraying candidate Soprano as a tough, no-nonsense leader. A man to be reckoned with. Some even thought he might be as tough a man as Trump, but most agreed that wasn't possible. How could it be? Fuggeddaboud it.

His opposition at first been a man known as Jesus H. Christ, the only begotten son of God, the father almighty. While many agreed that checked out. Jesus Christ could not produce a birth certificate and was quickly ordered deported by the republican party. Also, he was Jewish. They just were not going to overlook that anymore.

The democratic challenger turned out to be former California governor, Gavin Newsome. His candidacy got traction after it was revealed that Mayor Pete Buttigieg was a finook. America just wasn't ready for that, the media decided. They were not ready for Newsome either because he was handsome and had "too many ideas". The media hated that. 

So, that's how America wound up with President Tony Soprano in 2028. GABAGOOL!!

Flipping the Script

 When it comes to TV and movies, I don't like to know how the sausage is made. But full disclosure, I find it hard to resist the inside info when it comes to "The Sopranos". As luck would have it, there are a bazillion YouTubes about all things Soprano.  It's kinda crazy to me that people that people spend so much time gossiping about a fictional show. "Why did this happen? Why that? How 'bout this theory?"  Shit like that. My first thought is always, ask the writer. It's their story. It's not ours to add anything to it. It's not "The Bible", after all.  Story arcs are different though. I've been seeing a lot of a particular arc in The Sopranos that always befuddled me. Marisa Tomei Likes Me

Marisa Tomei- I always thought I had a chance with her... That's a line from a "Seinfeld" episode where George Costanza said that about Marisa Tomei, and then as the script would have it, he met Marisa Tomei and they hit it off. Every mention of Marisa Tomei on the internet- if I see it- I will post it. Seinfeld fans get it.  So, I did that last week on a Facebook post and quickly got a like from Marisa Tomei. This caused me click on the profile, curious as to whether the actress was on FB or if it were a fan page.  I've gotten likes from actors before. Some I think were legit because they were just likes. Some of the cast of the "Sopranos" liked a post I made about the controversial ending of the series, where it suddenly went black- and that was it. Series over.
