Sir Ferrerman, the Rapscallion
Yes, I know we are not supposed to take the comments section seriously. They are the domain of bots and trolls, home to vitriol and poor spelling, whether it be Facebook, Twitter or Walmart on-line. I have gotten two emails from Walmart applauding me for a review I wrote about an item that I received that "Did not work", noting that my review had received hundreds of views, and encouraging me to make more! I write pretty well and could have gone to town on that review, probably burying Walmart in the process, but it wasn't worth it. These days bots are processing complaints, and bots not being from around here... sarcasm and creative writing are obviously lost on them.
It is similar with bots and allegedly human maga trolls, particularly on the WGN Chicago site and what's left of newspapers in my Northern Illinois vicinity that I find on my Facebook feed. There is always talk of "NO KINGS" rallies to be held, and maga- the world's most practical, no-nonsense, plain-talking shitheads who ever injected bleach or Ivermectin up their butts, think "NO KINGS" is stupid, because obviously we don't have Kings in this republic of theirs. We have presidents! So, it's just silly to accept money from George Soros and go out in freezing weather to protest (violently, they mendaciously add) with commercially produced, properly spelled signs. That there are protests proves that Trump is not a King! "IF he was a King, he wouldn't let you protest! DUH!" And that is that! Maga logic begins and ends with the words, "Coming up next on Fox and Friends..."
So, they are dumb motherfuckers. Why are the tech bros investing so many billions in creating stupid bots that sound like the 77 million idiots that voted for Trump? They have free ones- right there! Well, they aren't always going to have them handy, I guess, and they realize that. Plus, they are probably as annoyed as we are by actual stupid people. Why not create their own?
I learned a long time ago on the internet that someone who would make a provocative post and not stand and defend their position, was not a coward, just likely not an actual human being. You would never hear from them again, at least on that thread. Well, some were pussies. Those definitely do exist. But by and large, it was pre-historic, Neanderthal bots just starting shit to feed the algorithms. I hear now that as AI has advanced, it's probable that some posters you may engage with on social media are bots trained to interact. I suspected that when I recently tried to quit a Xfinity package via the phone, that it was not a real person calling me "Sir (Ferrerman)" even after I asked her to stop because it made me sound like British royalty, which I am not. Nevertheless, she persisted. BTW, even though this bot/person assured me I had indeed cancelled, I still have that package. But here I go digressing again. I do that from time to time.
Point is, yeah, it is futile to argue with idiots on the internet. Duh. You can't defeat stupid. You can't even hope to contain it. But you can entertain yourself and other like-minded individuals by mocking the dumb cunts. That, by the way, is the UK use of the c-word which is generally gender-neutral- meaning a dumb/disagreeable person-and is not as sexually vitriolic as it is here in the states. I still don't like to use it a lot, but I can because I'm damn near British royalty, ya know.
